A defining feature of the role is that the client does not provide access to their production Microsoft 365 tenant, and no client data may leave their environment. unnecessary custom development, particularly where custom code provides only cosmetic or marginal functional benefit Build reusable components, patterns, and structures that can support the subsequent rollout rather than requiring redevelopment

CROSS-TENANT BUILD & HANDOVER

Maintain a working replica of the client's intended site structure within our Microsoft 365 tenant using synthetic content only Design solutions specifically for deployment across a tenant boundary where the development environment and client environment cannot be directly accessed Create and maintain portable deployment artefacts, including PnP provisioning templates, SPFx .sppkg packages, site scripts, theme JSON, configuration files, and required design assets Identify tenant-specific dependencies and ensure they are documented and configurable during deployment Anticipate differences between the development and client environments, including permissions, policies, existing branding, retention settings, app catalog configuration, and other tenant-level constraints Develop deployment runbooks that allow a non-technical client maintainer to deploy the solution with minimal external assistance Include validation, troubleshooting, and rollback procedures in deployment documentation Support the client through deployment without directly accessing or modifying their production environment

SHAREPOINT IMPLEMENTATION & SPFX

Implement modern Share Point solutions using native Share Point functionality wherever appropriate Develop production-quality SPFx web parts and extensions using React and Type Script Manage the complete SPFx development workflow, including development, build, bundling, packaging, testing, and deployment preparation Use PnP Power Shell, provisioning templates, PnPjs, and related tooling to automate and reproduce Share Point configurations Configure modern Share Point site designs, site scripts, hub sites, navigation, page layouts, themes, and native web parts Use Microsoft Graph where Microsoft 365 data or functionality cannot be appropriately provided through native Share Point capabilities Understand API permission scopes and the administrative consent required for Microsoft Graph integrations Use supported Share Point customisation approaches and avoid fragile CSS injection or unsupported techniques that may break with Microsoft updates

DESIGN FIDELITY, RESPONSIVENESS & ACCESSIBILITY

Translate approved visual designs and mockups into accurate, production-quality Share Point pages Implement designs faithfully across spacing, typography, layouts, component states, interactions, and responsive behaviour Work closely with the Graphic Designer to identify technical constraints or design conflicts early and agree practical solutions Build responsive experiences that work effectively across desktop, tablet, and mobile form factors Ensure delivered pages and components meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility requirements Apply appropriate semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, colour contrast, focus states, alternative text, and accessible interaction patterns Monitor page performance and background Conduct paired deployment sessions where the client's maintainer performs the deployment while you provide guidance and troubleshooting support Explain technical solutions and deployment procedures in clear, practical language without unnecessary jargon Teach the maintainer how to operate, configure, and maintain the delivered solution Produce documentation that enables the client to continue managing the solution after the engagement ends

DELIVERY & ROLLOUT SHAPING

Identify technical risks and communicate them early, particularly where requirements may require unsupported functionality, additional custom development, or unresolved client decisions Design reusable components and patterns that can support the larger rollout Contribute technical input to the planning and estimation of subsequent phases Maintain a pragmatic focus on delivering within the pilot's budget and timeline

Who are you?

Education & Professional integration with Power Platform and associated deployment considerations

Interpersonal Skills

Comfortable taking ownership as the sole Share Point specialist on an engagement Able to work independently without direct access to the client's production environment Strong troubleshooting skills, including the ability to diagnose issues from screenshots, logs, configuration information, and user feedback Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce precise and practical deployment documentation Able to teach and enable a client maintainer without assuming prior coding or Share Point expertise Pragmatic and able to distinguish between genuine technical requirements and unnecessary customization Proactive in identifying dependencies, risks, and decisions that could affect delivery

Benefits

Real ownership: One specialist, one client, clear deliverables.
