The Role
The Partnerships Manager owns Lucid's merchant network end-to-end — finding and signing the merchants that give Lucid customers somewhere great to spend, and then managing those relationships so they stay active, healthy, and growing. This is a full-cycle commercial role: you'll prospect and pitch new merchants, negotiate and close agreements, manage your pipeline against quarterly targets, and act as the ongoing relationship owner for the partners you bring on board — reviewing performance, resolving issues, and identifying opportunities to grow transaction volume. You'll work closely with Marketing, Product, and Operations to make sure every merchant you sign has a smooth path from first conversation to a thriving, transacting store.
Key Responsibilities Merchant Acquisition & Business Development • Identify, prospect, and pitch new merchants across priority categories — electronics, home appliances, fashion, F&B, travel, and beyond • Present Lucid's value proposition — zero enrollment fees, competitive transaction fees, settlement in four days maximum, zero credit risk, and marketing support — to convert prospects into signed partners • Negotiate commercial terms within approved frameworks and close merchant agreements • Coordinate onboarding and terminal setup (Paymob, Fawry, or Lucid Point) with Product and Operations for a smooth go-live Pipeline & Target Management • Build and maintain a healthy, well-qualified acquisition pipeline from first outreach through signed and live, using CRM/pipeline tools • Own quarterly merchant acquisition targets and contribute to Lucid's company-wide network growth goals • Forecast pipeline conversion, track progress against targets, and proactively flag risks to your numbers • Prioritize outreach by vertical, deal size, and strategic fit to keep the pipeline efficient and healthy
Merchant Relationship Management • Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of merchant partners post-onboarding • Build trusted, long-term relationships with merchant owners and managers so Lucid remains their BNPL partner of choice • Resolve day-to-day merchant issues and escalations, looping in Support, Product, or Finance as needed • Make sure merchants feel supported, informed, and engaged with the Lucid network
Commercial Review & Account Performance • Conduct regular commercial reviews with merchant partners, analyzing transaction volume, basket size, and GMV trends • Identify underperforming merchants and build action plans — in-store visibility, staff training, promotions — to reactivate or grow volumes • Spot upsell and growth opportunities: new store locations, new categories, online integration, comarketing campaigns • Track and report merchant- and portfolio-level performance to Commercial leadership
Cross-Functional Collaboration • Partner with Marketing on featured placements, co-funded media, and cross-merchant collaborations and events • Relay merchant feedback to Product and Credit/Risk teams to inform improvements • Represent Lucid at retail industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities

What You'll Bring
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field • 3–6 years of experience in business development, partnerships, key account management, or sales — fintech, payments, retail, or e-commerce experience strongly preferred • A demonstrated track record of hitting or exceeding acquisition or sales targets • Strong commercial and negotiation skills; comfortable discussing fees, terms, and contracts • Excellent relationship-building skills, from merchant owners to senior retail executives • A data-driven mindset — comfortable with CRM tools, pipeline reporting, and basic performance analysis • Fluency in Arabic and English, written and spoken • Based in Cairo, with willingness to travel across Greater Cairo, Giza, and Alexandria to meet merchants in person • A self-starter mindset — comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities in a fast-growing startup
Nice to Have
• An existing network of contacts across Egyptian retail, fashion, electronics, or F&B • Familiarity with payment/POS ecosystems such as Paymob or Fawry • Prior experience in BNPL, consumer lending, or fintech more broadly • Experience planning or running co-marketing campaigns or partner events
How to Apply
Send your CV and a short note on relevant experience to aam@lucidco.ai with the subject line “Partnerships Manager Application.”
