Situated at the ancient city of Cairo, the GUC’s mission is to achieve excellence in teaching and research.<br>The Faculty of Applied Science and Arts enrolls 1,250 students in three design majors: Graphic Design, Product Design and Media Design. GUC (Cairo Campus) invites highly qualified and motivated candidates to fill the following vacancy in the Department of Product Design. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching.<br>Responsibilities:<br>The position will focus on teaching and experimental research in 3D CAD, surface modeling and visualization for the undergraduate and graduate programs in product design. The candidate should have teaching and research experience in the area of CAD/Product Design at the immediate interface with 3D Rendering, 3D Printing and other prototyping workshops. The learning objective of the students is the independent ability to produce solid data from complex designs that are part of the multidisciplinary practice of the department, in order to realize design projects as well as collaborations with other disciplines.<br>Experience/ Skills: Design and technical expertise working with 3D CAD and rendering software. Good knowledge of Rhinoceros (surface modeling), knowledge of parametric modeling is a plus. Experience with AM and CAM. Knowledge of the latest developments in VR, AR, and AI and their integration into the curriculum. Knowledge of current and future design approaches. Curiosity to expand perceptions within the design discipline to create a foundation for design-oriented action and thinking. Strong commitment to progressive design education principles regarding self-directed and responsible design study. Understanding of the implications of design practice within social, cultural, economic, scientific or technological contexts. Ability to work well with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds, professional experiences, and aesthetic sensibilities. Ability to structure and define project goals to promote and motivate positive experiences. Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills in English, the language of instruction. Good management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines, communicate effectively, and motivate.
