<p>Maintenance Manager Manufacturing Location: Sadat City, Egypt Industry: Personal Care / Consumer Products Experience: 8 12+ years Function: Engineering / Maintenance / Manufacturing About the Role We are hiring an experienced Maintenance Manager to take ownership of the maintenance and engineering requirements of an established high-volume Personal Care manufacturing facility in Egypt. This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring high levels of equipment reliability, availability and operational efficiency across production equipment and plant infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with Production and Operations teams and lead a small maintenance team, supported by external technical resources and equipment specialists where required. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day maintenance activities across the manufacturing facility. Ensure maximum availability, reliability and performance of production equipment and plant utilities. Develop and execute preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical and equipment-related breakdowns. Minimise unplanned downtime through effective preventive maintenance and structured root-cause analysis. Work closely with Production to prioritise maintenance activities while minimising disruption to manufacturing schedules. Monitor and maintain equipment maintenance schedules, technical records, documentation and service history. Track key maintenance KPIs including equipment uptime, breakdown frequency, MTTR, MTBF and maintenance costs. Identify recurring equipment failures and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions. Coordinate with external service providers, contractors and equipment OEMs. Manage relationships with multiple machinery and equipment suppliers/OEMs. Support the installation, commissioning, modification and improvement of production equipment. Ensure availability of critical spare parts and optimise spare-parts inventory. Support engineering projects, equipment upgrades and process improvement initiatives. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with EHS, statutory, regulatory and company requirements. Maintain equipment documentation and ensure the facility remains audit-ready. Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, equipment performance and maintenance cost. Provide technical support to Production and Operations teams on equipment-related issues. Guide and supervise the maintenance team and external technical resources. Technical Scope The role will have broad responsibility across: Mechanical maintenance Electrical maintenance Production machinery Packaging equipment Plant utilities Automation and control systems Preventive and predictive maintenance Breakdown management and troubleshooting Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement The manufacturing environment includes multiple equipment types, machinery brands and OEMs , making experience across diverse technical systems highly relevant.</p><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or a related Engineering discipline. 8 12+ years of relevant maintenance/engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Mandatory: Strong experience in high-volume Personal Care manufacturing. Candidates without relevant Personal Care manufacturing experience will not be considered. Hands-on experience with production machinery, packaging equipment and plant utilities. Strong exposure to both mechanical and electrical maintenance is preferred. Experience working with multiple machinery OEMs and external technical service providers. Strong knowledge of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance practices. Hands-on experience in breakdown analysis, RCA, MTBF/MTTR improvement and continuous improvement. Experience with automation/control systems and industrial equipment troubleshooting. Good understanding of industrial safety, EHS and maintenance compliance requirements. Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-shift manufacturing environment. Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Good communication and stakeholder management skills. Fluency in English is required; Arabic is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in Personal Care manufacturing maintenance, preferably within a high-volume facility with multiple production lines, packaging formats and equipment OEMs. Relevant experience may include maintenance responsibility across personal care products, cosmetics, beauty and grooming, skin care, hair care, hygiene products or related Personal Care manufacturing operations. The successful candidate should be a hands-on maintenance leader with strong technical depth across mechanical, electrical, utilities, production machinery, packaging and automation rather than someone whose experience is limited to administrative maintenance management.</p>
<p>About the Role We are hiring a Head of Factory Operations to lead the overall manufacturing operations of an established Personal Care manufacturing facility in Egypt . The role will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective factory operations while driving productivity, quality, operational excellence and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will lead the site operations team and work closely with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Procurement and other cross-functional stakeholders.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Lead the overall day-to-day operations and management of the manufacturing facility.</li><li>Ensure production plans are delivered on time while maintaining required standards of quality, safety, efficiency and cost.</li><li>Drive operational excellence initiatives to improve productivity, equipment utilisation, throughput and overall plant performance.</li><li>Lead production operations across multiple manufacturing processes and packaging formats.</li><li>Ensure effective manpower planning, workforce deployment and shift management.</li><li>Manage and optimise both permanent and outsourced/contract workforce in line with operational requirements.</li><li>Establish and monitor operational KPIs covering productivity, efficiency, downtime, quality, waste, safety and service levels.</li><li>Partner closely with Maintenance and Engineering teams to maximise equipment availability and minimise unplanned downtime.</li><li>Work closely with Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement and other functions to ensure smooth end-to-end manufacturing operations.</li><li>Ensure compliance with applicable EHS, statutory, regulatory and company standards.</li><li>Lead root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for operational and quality issues.</li><li>Identify opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction and cost optimisation.</li><li>Build a strong culture of accountability, performance, continuous improvement and safety across the factory.</li><li>Lead capability development, performance management and succession planning for the factory team.</li><li>Manage relationships with external partners, contractors, vendors and service providers.</li><li>Support new product introductions, process improvements and manufacturing projects.</li><li>Prepare and review operational reports and provide regular updates to senior management.</li><li>Ensure the facility remains audit-ready and compliant with internal and external standards.</li></ul><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p>Candidate Requirements</p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations or a related discipline.</li><li>12 15+ years of relevant manufacturing experience, with significant experience in factory/plant operations.</li><li>Mandatory: Strong experience in Personal Care manufacturing, preferably within a high-volume Personal Care manufacturing facility.</li><li>Proven experience managing complete factory operations, rather than only a production function.</li><li>Experience managing both permanent and outsourced/contract workforce.</li><li>Strong understanding of production planning, productivity, quality, maintenance coordination, EHS and operational excellence.</li><li>Experience working with multiple packaging formats and automated/semi-automated manufacturing environments.</li><li>Strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies will be an advantage.</li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.</li><li>Fluency in English is required; Arabic is preferred.</li></ul><p>Ideal Background</p><p>The ideal candidate will currently or recently have worked in Personal Care manufacturing , with hands-on responsibility for the overall factory/plant operations of a high-volume manufacturing facility. Experience across areas such as personal care products, cosmetics, beauty & grooming, hygiene products, skin care, hair care or related consumer personal care manufacturing will be relevant.</p>
