The ideal candidate will have minimum 10 years of experience in geology and/or engineering geology and will be adept at performing a variety of geological tasks. This role involves both office and field work, with international travel as required by project needs.<br>Responsibilities:<br>Conduct geological mapping and desk studies analysis. Perform site surveys and supervise ground investigation programs. Classify rock masses and conduct rock joints surveys, including stereographic projection and kinematic analysis. Utilize knowledge of geophysical surveys and Arc GIS (preferred). Lead and manage projects, ensuring effective teamwork, communication, and report writing.<br>Qualifications:<br>Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or a related field. Deputy Chief Geotechnical Engineer <br> <br>Anglo Gold Ashanti acquired the Sukari gold mine in Egypt through the acquisition of Centamin plc in November 2024. Sukari is owned in partnership with the Egyptian Government.<br> <br>Sukari is located approximately 750km from Cairo and 25km from Marsa Alam on the Red Sea. First gold was poured in June 2009 and commercial production began in April 2010, making Sukari the first modern gold mine in Egypt, a country which in ancient times was a prolific producer of the precious metal.
