Job Purpose The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and efficient operation of all mechanical equipment and machinery within the plant. The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment inspections, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to minimize downtime and maintain safe and efficient operations.<br>Key Responsibilities Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective mechanical maintenance activities. Troubleshoot mechanical failures and breakdowns and ensure timely resolution. Conduct regular inspections of machinery and mechanical equipment to identify potential issues. Ensure maximum equipment availability and minimize unplanned downtime. Maintain and repair mechanical systems including pumps, compressors, gearboxes, conveyors, valves, bearings, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Analyze recurring breakdowns and recommend corrective and preventive actions. Coordinate with Production and other departments to ensure maintenance activities are completed with minimum impact on production. Prepare maintenance reports and maintain accurate records of breakdowns, repairs, spare parts, and preventive maintenance activities. Follow up on maintenance work orders and ensure timely completion. Support the Maintenance Manager in developing and improving preventive maintenance plans. Monitor the condition and performance of critical equipment and recommend improvements when required. Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers for specialized maintenance activities. Ensure availability and proper use of mechanical spare parts and maintenance tools. Participate in equipment installation, commissioning, modification, and improvement projects. Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance principles and troubleshooting techniques. Good knowledge of pumps, compressors, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, valves, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance systems. Good understanding of maintenance planning and spare parts management.
