Service Crew<br> <br>Sukari is located approximately 750km from Cairo and 25km from Marsa Alam on the Red Sea. First gold was poured in June 2009 and commercial production began in April 2010, making Sukari the first modern gold mine in Egypt, a country which in ancient times was a prolific producer of the precious metal. Sukari conducts both open-pit and underground mining operations, each employing specialised mining methods tailored to the orebody characteristics and operational requirements.<br> <br>The Role<br> <br>Anglo Gold Ashanti is seeking a Service Crew to support underground mining operations at Sukari. The role is responsible for providing assistance across a range of underground activities, including extending ventilation pipes and services, and installing power cables, fans, and pumps.<br>Working as part of the Underground team, the Service Crew will help ensure the safe and efficient functioning of the mine site by supporting equipment installation, material handling, ground support activities, maintenance tasks, and accurate reporting.<br> <br>Location: Sukari Gold Mine Egypt Contract Type: Full Time <br>The Key Responsibilities<br> <br>Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety regulations, practices, protocols, and procedures associated with underground mining. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on underground mining equipment, including greasing, cleaning, and inspections, and report mechanical issues promptly. Installation and Removal: Assist in the installation and removal of underground mining equipment, including ventilation systems, conveyor belts, pipes, and cables. Material Handling: Assist with the handling, transportation, storage, and organisation of tools, equipment, and supplies required for mining operations. Ground Support: Assist in installing ground support systems such as rock bolts, mesh, and shotcrete to maintain underground stability and safety. Communication and Collaboration: Maintain effective communication with supervisors and team members, follow instructions, and work closely with others to support efficient and safe mining operations. Documentation and Development: Maintain accurate work records, safety and incident reports, and participate in ongoing training and development related to underground mining. <br>The Requirements<br> <br>High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience working in an underground mining environment. Previous experience operating concrete agitator trucks or similar equipment in an underground mining environment is preferred. Familiarity with batching plants and a basic understanding of mixing ratios for different concrete mixtures used in construction and mining projects. Basic mechanical knowledge to conduct pre-shift inspections and troubleshoot minor issues in line with established protocols. Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with supervisors and team members using two-way radios or other site communication devices. Physical fitness and ability to work in a physically demanding underground environment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Self-motivation and willingness to learn new skills. Commitment to safe work practices and compliance with company values, policies, and procedures.
