Purpose: The Landscape Technician will provide technical agricultural operations and supervisory support to the Landscape and Ground unit, ensuring the optimal health, maintenance, and appearance of all campus landscapes, plants, and nurseries through effective execution of planting, plant care, pest management, and team oversight.<br>Responsibilities:Execute Planting and Soil Preparation: Perform and supervise all planting operations, including excavation, soil preparation, adding fertilizers, planting materials, and replacement of dead plants Implement Plant Health Programs: Perform and monitor fertigation, foliar applications, and execute precautionary and remedial pest management, e.g., spraying, applying fungicides, and biological control Maintain Specialized Areas: Execute and monitor agricultural activities in the in-campus greenhouse and open nurseries, e.g., seed germination, propagation, and grafting, and maintain indoor plants in offices and courts Monitor and Report Plant Status: Daily monitoring of plants, including date palms, to investigate growth, problems, infections, and promptly report information or notes to landscape engineers Manage Resources and Inventory: Check and monitor the stock and inventory of pro-materials, tools, chemical fertilizers, and supplies in coordination with the storekeeper Ensure Safety and Cleanliness: Apply safety precautions while using toxic materials and monitor trash or plant residue cleaning activities Supervise Team Performance: Supervise gardeners and technicians, monitor work assignments, and control labor performance for efficiency General Administrative Support: Perform other related duties as requested<br>Requirements:Minimum Education Requirements:High school diploma, Intermediate school diploma or a related degree Experience:Minimum five years of experience in related landscape roles<br>Skills:Agricultural Operations: Demonstrated ability to perform hands-on tasks including excavation, planting, pest management, fertigation, and technical nursery operations like propagation and grafting Reporting and Monitoring: Competency in monitoring plant health, taking accurate notes, preparing records, and following up on issues to effectively communicate necessary actions to landscape engineers Safety Adherence: Understanding and strict application of safety procedures when handling equipment and toxic materials<br>This position is open until September 6, 2026Placement is based on the candidate’s experience and skills.
