About the job Job Vacancy: QC Technician – Ready-Mix Concrete We are looking for a qualified and experienced QC Technician to join our Ready-Mix Concrete operations.
Job Responsibilities Monitor and control the quality of concrete during production at the Ready-Mix Concrete Plant. Conduct the required tests on fresh concrete according to approved specifications and standards. Collect concrete samples from mixers and job sites according to approved procedures. Perform Slump Tests and measure concrete temperature. Prepare, cast, label, and cure concrete cubes for compressive strength testing. Monitor compressive strength test results, maintain records, and report any non-conforming results to the Quality Manager. Monitor the quality of raw materials used in concrete production, including sand, aggregates, cement, water, and admixtures. Ensure that produced concrete complies with the approved mix design. Follow up on concrete deliveries to job sites and ensure compliance with the required specifications. Coordinate with and follow up with concrete mixer truck drivers regarding deliveries and site requirements. Maintain daily inspection and testing records and prepare quality control reports. Identify quality deviations and assist in implementing the necessary corrective actions. Coordinate with the Plant Operator and Production Team to resolve any concrete quality issues. Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure that all testing equipment is available, safe, and in good working condition. Follow all quality, safety, and occupational health procedures at the plant and job sites.
Qualifications & Experience Technical Diploma or Industrial Diploma; preferably in Civil Engineering, Concrete, or Building Materials.4 to 10 years of practical experience in concrete quality control. Previous experience in Ready-Mix Concrete Plants is mandatory. Good knowledge and practical experience in testing fresh and hardened concrete. Good experience in conducting Slump Tests and measuring concrete temperature. Good knowledge of concrete sampling, cube casting, labeling, and curing procedures. Basic knowledge of testing sand, aggregates, and other concrete materials. Ability to record test results and prepare quality control reports. Experience in following up on concrete deliveries and coordinating with mixer truck drivers. Good knowledge of applicable concrete specifications and standards. Ability to work shifts and under pressure. Strong commitment to quality and occupational safety procedures.
