<section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles & Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><p><b>Job Purpose:</b></p> <p>The Utilities Engineer shall prepare, draft, coordinate, check, and revise utilities shop drawings </p> <p>for UAE infrastructure projects. </p> <p>The engineer shall be able to work independently on assigned utility networks and coordinate </p> <p>with roads, structures, and other disciplines before internal submission. </p> <p>Scope of Work:</p> <p>Stormwater, sewerage, potable water, irrigation, firefighting, electrical ducts, telecom ducts, </p> <p>street lighting, ITS ducts, utility corridors, manholes, chambers, gullies, catch basins, valve </p> <p>chambers, duct banks, crossings, protection details, and NOC coordination drawings. </p> <p> </p> <p>Key Responsibilities: </p> <p>1. Prepare utilities shop drawings based on IFC drawings, specifications, standard details, </p> <p>authority requirements, and project procedures. </p> <p>2. Draft and coordinate utility layouts, profiles, long sections, cross sections, chamber </p> <p>details, manhole schedules, setting out drawings, and protection details. </p> <p>3. Prepare gravity network drawings, including stormwater and sewerage, with correct </p> <p>slopes, invert levels, manhole depths, pipe sizes, cover, and flow direction. </p> <p>4. Prepare pressure network drawings, including potable water, irrigation, and firefighting, </p> <p>with correct alignment, fittings, valves, chambers, thrust blocks, and protection details. </p> <p>5. Prepare dry utility drafting support for electrical, telecom, street lighting, ITS, ducts, duct </p> <p>banks, crossings, chambers, and corridors. </p> <p>6. Check utility levels against road levels, pavement layers, kerbs, gullies, catch basins, </p> <p>chambers, and proposed grading. </p> <p>7. Coordinate utility crossings with roads, structures, foundations, retaining walls, bridges, </p> <p>underpasses, and existing services. </p> <p>8. Identify clashes, insu icient cover, wrong invert levels, crossing conflicts, chamber </p> <p>conflicts, and non-constructible details. </p> <p>9. Prepare drawings for trial trench, protection, diversion, temporary works interface, and </p> <p>utility relocation support when required. </p> <p>10. Review draftsman output for assigned drawings before submitting to the Senior Utilities </p> <p>Engineer. </p> <p>11. Prepare technical markups and clear drafting instructions for draftsmen. </p> <p>12. Revise drawings based on consultant comments, RFI responses, internal comments, </p> <p>site comments, and revised IFC drawings. </p> <p>13. Support the preparation of RFIs for missing information, utility conflicts, authority </p> <p>requirements, and unclear design details. </p> <p>14. Prepare utility schedules, manhole schedules, chamber schedules, crossing schedules, </p> <p>and basic quantity take-o .</p> <p>15. Coordinate with road engineers to ensure cover levels, chamber locations, gullies, catch </p> <p>basins, and road crossings match the approved road shop drawings. </p> <p>16.
