<p><h4>Position summary</h4>
<p>Remove and separate soiled laundry from chutes or housekeeping carts. Operate and monitor washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery in accordance with company standards. Apply correct treatment to stained items based on fabric and stain type. Maintain accurate records of items washed, number of loads, and poundage of dry cleaning and laundry. Transport cart of washed articles to dryers and place in dryers according to load size. Remove lint and debris from dryer screens, dry cleaning filters, and drain trap after each load. Monitor levels in chemical containers to ensure chemicals are being dispensed and notify supervisor or manager of potential pump problem.</p>
<p>Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects). Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps. The Field Animal Health Specialist will be based in one of FAO s intervention governorates (Assiut or Beheira).</p><p>Reporting Lines</p><p>The Field Animal Health Specialist will work under the direct supervision of FAO Representative in Egypt, the day-to-day guidance of the Project Coordinator and in close collaboration with FAO Egypt Livestock and Animal Health team.</p><p>Technical Focus</p><p>Animal health, disease surveillance and control, capacity development, technical support to One Health approach and animal health project activities.</p><p>Tasks and responsibilities</p><ul><li>Support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of animal health and livestock activities in the project funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) Tackling Climate Change Through Sustainable Livestock Management GCP/EGY/040/ITA.</li><li>Conduct field assessments, identify animal health priorities, and support disease surveillance, vaccination campaigns, outbreak investigations, and emergency response activities.</li><li>Promote good animal husbandry practices, biosecurity, animal welfare, antimicrobial stewardship, and the One Health approach through field interventions and technical guidance.</li><li>Organize and deliver training, field demonstrations, and capacity-building activities for veterinarians, para-veterinarians, community animal health workers, extension staff, and livestock producers, and develop the necessary technical and training materials.</li><li>Coordinate with the General Organization for Veterinary Services (GOVS), local veterinary authorities, research institutions, implementing partners, and other stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of project activities.</li><li>Monitor field activities, collect and analyze technical data, contribute to monitoring and evaluation, and prepare technical reports, mission reports, training reports, and other project documentation.</li><li>Contribute to the preparation of annual work plans, technical specifications, procurement documents, and other technical outputs required for project implementation.</li><li>Support the organization of technical meetings, workshops, and stakeholder consultations, and perform other related duties as assigned by the Project Manager.</li><li>Perform other related duties as required.</li></ul><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><ul><li>University degree in veterinary sciences, animal health and related fields;</li><li>At least 5 years of experience in sustainable animal health and livestock activities;</li><li>Working knowledge (level C) of Arabic, limited knowledge (level B) of English;</li><li>National of Egypt.</li></ul><p>FAO Core Competencies</p><ul><li>Results Focus</li><li>Teamwork</li><li>Communication</li><li>Building Effective Relationships</li><li>Knowledge Sharing and Continuous Improvement</li></ul>
