Job Context: working as a Sushi Chef who will be skilled in the art of sushi preparation and plating, committed to maintaining high standards of food quality, and capable of delivering a memorable dining experience to our customers.
Key Accountabilities
The position involves:
Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including maki, nigiri, sashimi, and specialty rolls.
Ensure all sushi items are made to order with precision and artistry.
Select, inspect, and prepare fresh seafood, vegetables, and other ingredients daily.
Maintain proper storage and handling of ingredients to ensure freshness and compliance with food safety standards.
Ensure sushi is plated and presented attractively and consistently, adhering to restaurant standards.
Work closely with other kitchen staff and front-of-house teams to deliver a seamless dining experience.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Monitor inventory and coordinate with suppliers to restock as needed.
Engage with customers when required, explaining menu options or preparing sushi at live stations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
We are Looking for:
A minimum of 4 Years experience as a Sushi Chef in a professional kitchen.
Exceptional knife skills and understanding of sushi preparation techniques.
Knowledge of food safety standards and handling practices.
Creativity in developing unique sushi dishes and menu items.
Very good in English (speaking, writing, and reading).
Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
