Role Description

This is a part-time remote role for a Junior Urban Designer at BORDEAUX plus Architects and Planners. The Junior Urban Designer will be responsible for tasks related to urban planning, comprehensive planning, architecture, urban design, and landscape architecture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or related field
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently
• Experience with relevant software tools and technologies

Technical Skills

• Design and Planning Knowledge: Understanding of urban design principles, spatial planning, site analysis, and the integration of sustainability into physical designs.
• Drafting and Visualization: Ability to produce technical drawings and visualizations of urban design concepts.
• Regulatory Awareness: Knowledge of zoning laws, building codes, and other regulatory issues relevant to urban planning and design.
• Sustainability and Resilience: Familiarity with sustainable urban development practices and strategies for creating resilient urban spaces.

Software Skills

• AutoCAD: Essential for creating precise drawings and plans.
• SketchUp: Popular for 3D modeling of design concepts.
• Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop for image editing and rendering, Illustrator for creating vector graphics, and InDesign for layout and presentation materials.
• Microsoft Office Suite: Proficiency in Excel for data management, Project for project tracking, and PowerPoint for presentations.
