Job Summary:The Chocolate Production & R&D Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end chocolate manufacturing operation while driving product innovation and continuous improvement initiatives. The role combines operational leadership with technical expertise in chocolate processing, product formulation, quality improvement, cost optimization, and new product development. The successful candidate will ensure world-class production standards, optimize manufacturing performance, develop innovative chocolate products, and collaborate closely with Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales, and Marketing to support business growth.<br>Key Responsibilities:Production Management:Lead and manage all chocolate production operations to achieve production targets, quality standards, and cost objectives. Develop and execute production plans in coordination with Supply Chain and Planning teams. Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and production resources. Monitor production efficiency, productivity, waste, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Drive continuous improvement initiatives to maximize operational efficiency. Ensure production schedules are achieved while maintaining product quality and food safety standards. Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions. Monitor production KPIs and prepare regular operational reports. Research & Development:Lead the development of new chocolate products, recipes, and product innovations. Improve existing formulations to enhance taste, texture, shelf life, and cost efficiency. Conduct product benchmarking and competitive market analysis. Lead pilot production trials and industrial scale-up activities. Collaborate with Marketing and Commercial teams on new product launches. Evaluate new raw materials and alternative ingredients. Optimize recipes while maintaining product quality and profitability. Maintain technical documentation for all formulations. Food Safety & Quality:Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, BRC, and food safety regulations. Work closely with QA/QC teams to maintain product quality. Lead investigations related to quality deviations and customer complaints. Ensure compliance with internal quality procedures. Participate in internal and external quality audits. Operational Excellence:Implement Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives. Reduce production waste and improve production yields. Optimize manufacturing costs through process improvements. Monitor production performance using KPIs and dashboards. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions. Team Leadership:Lead, coach, and develop Production Supervisors, Engineers, Technicians, and R&D Specialists. Conduct performance evaluations and identify development needs. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Build technical capabilities within the production team. Cross-Functional Collaboration:Coordinate with Procurement regarding raw materials. Work with Supply Chain on production planning. Support Marketing during new product development. Collaborate with Finance on production costing. Coordinate with Engineering on equipment improvements. Budget & Cost Control:Manage departmental budgets. Monitor manufacturing costs. Improve production efficiency and reduce waste. Support annual budgeting and forecasting.<br>Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline. Master's degree is an advantage.10–15 years of experience in food manufacturing. Minimum 5 years in a managerial role. Proven experience in chocolate manufacturing is mandatory. As the company grows, we continue to invest in our people, production systems, technology, and continuous-improvement capabilities.<br>Role overview MBCOIND is seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Manager to take responsibility for the daily operation of our manufacturing area. The successful candidate will ensure that production operates safely, smoothly, efficiently, and according to schedule. This position requires a practical leader who is comfortable working directly on the production floor, developing teams, solving operational problems, and establishing reliable systems for safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and cost control. Experience in corrugated packaging and flexographic printing is strongly preferred.<br>Key responsibilities Oversee daily production activities across sheet production, printing, die-cutting, gluing, and finishing operations. Prepare and execute production schedules according to customer orders, available capacity, manpower, materials, and delivery commitments. Ensure production targets are achieved safely, on time, and according to established quality requirements. Monitor output, machine utilization, downtime, waste, rework, quality defects, and on-time delivery. Establish clear production targets, shift handovers, reporting systems, and visual performance boards. Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors, operators, and support teams. Coordinate with maintenance to minimize breakdowns and strengthen preventive-maintenance practices. Work closely with quality, logistics, procurement, and sales to align production with customer requirements. Lead continuous-improvement activities using Kaizen, Lean manufacturing, 5S, standardized work, PDCA, root-cause analysis, and waste-reduction methods. Improve workflow, changeover times, material movement, production layout, and machine efficiency. Promote strong standards for safety, housekeeping, operational discipline, and product quality. Control overtime, material consumption, production costs, and operational waste. Provide management with accurate production reports, corrective actions, and improvement plans.<br>Qualifications Minimum five years of production-management experience in corrugated packaging or a closely related industrial converting environment. Relevant experience may have been gained as a Production Manager or Assistant Production Manager. Candidates with 8–10 or more years of relevant manufacturing experience will be strongly preferred. Hands-on knowledge of corrugated-board production, flexographic printing, die-cutting, gluing, and related converting processes. Demonstrated experience implementing Kaizen, Lean manufacturing, 5S, standardized work, and structured problem-solving. Strong knowledge of production planning, capacity management, machine utilization, quality control, and waste reduction. Proven ability to lead supervisors, operators, and shift-based production teams. Experience with ERP or production-management systems and Microsoft Office. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and decision-making skills. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related discipline. Substantial directly relevant experience may also be considered. Professional working proficiency in Arabic and English. About the Role This is a managerial leadership position. You will report directly to the Director of Operations and hold full accountability for the people, processes, and performance of the Gasket and Magnet Strip section. You will lead a team of supervisors, technicians, and operators, and serve as the operational bridge between Production, Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse.<br>Key Responsibilities Lead, manage, and develop production supervisors, technicians, and operators across both sections. Set performance objectives, conduct appraisals, and build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Train, mentor, and develop team members on SOPs, best practices, and new production techniques. Maintain a skill matrix for all production staff and use it to guide training plans and deployment decisions. Resolve workforce issues and maintain high engagement on the shop floor. Own daily, weekly, and monthly production output — volume, quality, and on-time delivery. Oversee shift planning, resource allocation, and production scheduling in coordination with the Planning team. Monitor and drive OEE, identifying and closing performance gaps; enforce first-production approval at shift start, model change, and after any unplanned stoppage. Minimize downtime through structured coordination with the Maintenance team. Enforce 4M change management (Man, Machine, Material, Method): track changes, and review risks. Lead improvement initiatives using Lean, Kaizen, 5S, and Six Sigma/DMAIC methodologies; actively engage shop-floor employees in the suggestion system. Develop, document, and maintain SOPs, process flow charts (raw material receipt to shipping, including rework/repair loops), and control plans linked to FMEA. Create and update Value Stream Maps (VSM) to identify waste and improvement opportunities; support all improvements with statistical data. Ensure process FMEAs are updated at each product or process change; re-score after corrective actions and apply lessons learned horizontally across similar processes. Manage feasibility assessments for new production projects (capacity, manpower, equipment). Ensure all critical and special product characteristics are identified in SOPs, control plans, and FMEAs, and clearly communicated at workstations. Collaborate with Quality Control to proactively reduce defects, scrap, and rework across all shifts. Ensure full compliance with ISO 9001:2015 on the production floor at all times. Maintain permanent audit readiness across production documentation, workstations, and processes for customer audits. Lead corrective action management using 8D, Fishbone, and 5-Why methods; ensure FMEA, control plans, and SOPs are updated after every major nonconformance. Enforce PPE usage, machine guards, and safety compliance across production areas. Track and report production KPIs (OEE, capacity utilization, CT, throughput rate, down time, scrap rate, on-time delivery, rework) to the Director of Operations regularly. Work cross-functionally with Planning, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Quality to align production execution with business goals. Participate in management review meetings; contribute production data, root cause findings, and improvement action plans.<br>Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.8–12 years of experience in production or manufacturing management. Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience in PVC gaskets production or home appliance / refrigerator manufacturing is strongly preferred. Lean Green Belt certification required — Six Sigma Black Belt, CPIM, or equivalent is a strong plus. Proven track record managing production teams and driving measurable improvements in output, quality, and efficiency. Hands-on experience with OEE tracking, VSM, Lean, 5S, Kaizen, FMEA, control plans, and SPC (CPK/Ppk). Experience with customer supplier audits is a strong advantage. Solid knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and manufacturing compliance requirements. Proficient in MS Excel, ERP systems, and production management tools. Excellent written and spoken English.
