Location: Cairo, Egypt (hybrid), with roughly 25% regional travel Entity: Zettasoft Egypt (https://www.zettasoft.com) Reports to: Managing Director, Zettasoft Egypt
About Zettasoft Egypt Zettasoft has been building software and advising technology leaders since 2007. Zettasoft Egypt, our Cairo office, serves the Middle East and North Africa with IT consulting, custom software development, and Odoo ERP implementation. For years, the same Cairo team has also designed and shipped production software for American clients, to US standards and on US timelines. Why This Role Exists Odoo built our reputation in the region, but it isn't the ceiling. The delivery muscle for much more is already here and already proven. AI enablement, custom application development, data analytics, cybersecurity operations, cloud management, and fractional CIO/CTO leadership have all been exercised for US clients for years. What we haven't done is sell that capability at scale to the region we sit in. The demand exists across Egypt and the Gulf, and we are barely touching it. We are hiring a Director of Business Development to change that and to build a regional pipeline that extends well beyond ERP implementation. What Zettasoft Egypt ultimately becomes in the region—the mix of consulting, engineering services, and products we lead with—is deliberately open. This role will help define it based on what the market buys. What You Will DoGenerate and own the pipeline• Build and execute a regional business development plan covering Egypt and priority Gulf markets (KSA, UAE, and selectively Qatar and Kuwait)• Identify which industries to go after (manufacturing, distribution and trading, education, retail, healthcare, financial services) and decide where our capability and their spending meet• Source new opportunities through direct outreach, referrals, industry events, and your own network. This role carries a number.• Qualify rigorously. We'd rather run three real deals well than twelve poorly. Expand the portfolio beyond Odoo• Position and sell the full Zettasoft catalogue: AI enablement and engineering, custom software development, data analytics and Power BI automation, cybersecurity strategy and operations, cloud and infrastructure management, and fractional CIO/CTO advisory• Translate technical capability into commercial language a CFO, COO, or business owner will act on• Lead with our strongest differentiator: a Cairo team with a US-client delivery track record, available to regional buyers without the cost or distance of a Western firm Find the software product this market needs• Listen for the problems that come up in deal after deal: the workarounds, the compliance burdens, the gaps between what Odoo does and what regional businesses need• Build the commercial case for the strongest of these: who buys it, what they pay today, and what a regional market is worth• Recruit design partners from your pipeline and existing accounts, and work with our product and engineering leadership to take a validated idea to first paying customers Recurring themes include Arabic-first AI applications, regional e-invoicing and regulatory compliance, and vertical extensions on top of Odoo. We are not committed to any direction yet; making the case is part of the job. Grow existing accounts• Map our Odoo and consulting clients for cross-sell and expansion opportunities• Build senior relationships that outlast individual projects and convert one-off implementations into multi-year engagements Build the partner ecosystem• Deepen our partnership with Odoo into a steady source of referred pipeline• Identify and develop new channel, reseller, and systems-integrator relationships across the region Run deals end to end• Lead every opportunity from first conversation through discovery, scoping, proposal, negotiation, and close• Work with our technical and management teams to turn a stated problem into a solution we can deliver; you bring the client context, they bring the architecture• Own pricing discipline and margin outcomes alongside the Managing Director• Maintain accurate forecasts and pipeline hygiene in our CRM, and hand off cleanly to delivery Inform strategy• Research where the market is going and recommend where Zettasoft should expand next: which countries, industries, and service lines deserve investment• Feed what you learn about competitors, pricing, and demand into our positioning, marketing, and event strategy
What Success Looks Like in Year One• A qualified pipeline built from scratch across at least two markets, with a repeatable outbound and referral motion• Signed engagements in at least two service lines outside Odoo implementation• A researched business case for one regional software product, with named design partners, strong enough for a build-or-not decision• Measurable revenue expansion within the existing client base• At least one partner or channel relationship generating referred opportunities• A clear recommendation on where to concentrate our commercial effort in year two
What You Bring Required• 8+ years in business development, enterprise sales, or client-facing consulting, with at least 4 years selling technology services (IT consulting, systems integration, custom development, managed services, or ERP) in the MENA region• A record of originating and closing new business you personally sourced• A solid technical foundation, from a computer science or engineering degree or equivalent hands-on experience: you can scope a custom software build, question an architecture, and speak fluently about cloud platforms, ERP systems, data and analytics, and modern AI without an engineer beside you• Credibility with owners, CFOs, and COOs, and comfort being the most senior person in the room representing us• Fluency in the region: you know how buying decisions get made in Egypt and the Gulf, and you have relationships worth leveraging• Strong written and spoken English and Arabic• Comfort with ambiguity and an appetite for building the function rather than inheriting one• Willingness to travel regionally, roughly 25% of the time Strongly preferred• Earlier hands-on experience as a solutions architect, presales engineer, developer, or technical consultant• Experience selling into Gulf markets from Egypt, or an existing network of buyers and partners there• Background in a consultancy, systems integrator, or software services firm rather than pure product sales• Familiarity with Odoo, Microsoft Dynamics, or comparable ERP ecosystems• Exposure to selling AI, data and analytics, or cybersecurity services• Experience building partner or channel programs• Experience taking a software product to market, whether as early-stage Saa S, a new product line inside a services firm, or your own venture
What We Offer• Competitive compensation package• Direct access to senior leadership in Cairo and the US• A proven delivery organization behind everything you sell, plus an established regional client list to build from• Ownership of the regional commercial strategy, and the budget and authority to build a team as the pipeline earns it• A path into product: if you find the opportunity and make the case, you will help build and lead it• Hybrid working from our Cairo office• Investment in continuous learning, including partner certifications
