<h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> <p><strong>Job Purpose:</strong></p><br><p>The Road Engineer, Shop Drawings, shall prepare, coordinate, check, and revise road shop </p><br><p>drawings for UAE infrastructure projects. </p><br><p>The engineer shall be able to work independently on assigned drawings with guidance from the </p><br><p>Senior Road Engineer or Technical Lead. He shall prepare road layouts, profiles, cross sections, </p><br><p>grading drawings, pavement drawings, kerb drawings, signage, road markings, and related </p><br><p>coordination drawings. </p><br><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><br><p>1. Prepare road shop drawings based on IFC drawings, specifications, standard details, </p><br><p>project requirements, and senior engineer instructions. </p><br><p>2. Prepare road layout drawings, setting out drawings, grading drawings, longitudinal </p><br><p>profiles, cross sections, kerb layouts, pavement drawings, road marking drawings, and </p><br><p>signage drawings. </p><br><p>3. Prepare and update Civil 3D data, including alignments, profiles, surfaces, corridors, </p><br><p>sections, and basic quantity outputs. </p><br><p>4. Check road levels, coordinates, chainages, o sets, slopes, crossfalls, pavement build</p><br><p>up, tie-ins, and interfaces with existing roads. </p><br><p>5. Coordinate road drawings with stormwater, sewerage, irrigation, potable water, </p><br><p>electrical, street lighting, telecom, structures, landscape, and tra ic diversion works.</p><br><p>6. Check that manhole covers, gullies, catch basins, valve chambers, inspection </p><br><p>chambers, and utility crossings match the proposed road levels. </p><br><p>7. Identify grading conflicts, ponding risks, reverse slopes, low point issues, kerb conflicts, </p><br><p>cover level issues, and tie-in problems. </p><br><p>8. Prepare shop drawing revisions based on consultant comments, internal comments, </p><br><p>RFI responses, site comments, and revised IFC drawings. </p><br><p>9. Prepare technical markups for draftsmen and coordinate the required updates. </p><br><p>10. Support the Senior Road Engineer in preparing RFIs for missing information, design </p><br><p>conflicts, or non-constructible details. </p><br><p>11. Support the site team with sketches, clarifications, level checks, and coordination </p><br><p>inputs when required. </p><br><p>12. Maintain drawing files, markups, revision records, trackers, and submission status in </p><br><p>proper order. </p><br><p>13. Ensure no assigned drawing is issued for internal review without checking dimensions, </p><br><p>levels, references, and coordination points</p><br> </div>
