Scope of the Role The Senior Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling the project schedule on site. The role ensures timely project delivery by coordinating with project teams, monitoring progress, identifying delays, and implementing corrective actions. <br>2. Accountabilities / Responsibilities Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using appropriate planning tools (Primavera P6, MS Project). Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly progress of site activities and compare with planned schedule. Identify potential delays and propose mitigation or recovery plans. Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and contractors to ensure schedule compliance. Prepare progress reports, lookahead schedules, and milestone updates for management and clients. Assist in resource planning and allocation to optimize project execution. Review contractor work plans and ensure alignment with project schedule and milestones. Conduct schedule risk analysis and provide recommendations for risk mitigation. Participate in site meetings and provide updates on project progress, delays, and corrective actions. Ensure schedule documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with project procedures. <br>3. Job Competences Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and control techniques. Proficiency in planning software (Primavera P6, MS Project, MS Excel). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong communication and coordination abilities. Ability to monitor multiple activities and deadlines simultaneously. Understanding of construction methods and project execution. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in reporting. <br>4. Professional Qualification & Experience Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Minimum 10-15 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably in large-scale construction projects. Proven experience in site-based planning and progress control. Familiarity with resource planning, risk analysis, and schedule reporting. Knowledge of project management procedures, standards, and best practices. Professional certifications (e.g., PMI-PMP, AACE, Planning Professional) are an advantage.
