About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to bring strategic clarity and operational discipline to a growing, multi-product portfolio (mCommons, Waterfall, Mappy/MAPI, and Rant & Rave). This is not a ticket-writing role — it's a role for someone who can see the bigger picture, coach a team that's currently more comfortable with execution than strategy, and build the roadmap and reporting discipline the organization needs as it scales post-independence.

You'll work directly with product leadership and existing Product Owners, helping the org move from reactive, ticket-by-ticket firefighting to proactive, roadmap-driven planning — while still staying close enough to the day-to-day to unblock teams when needed.

What You'll OwnRoadmap & Strategy
Own a "now / next / later" product roadmap across multiple products, communicating direction clearly to engineering, product, and executive stakeholders

Translate customer complaints and CSM (Customer Success Manager) requests into coherent strategic priorities — rather than one-off tickets with no bigger-picture tie-back

Anticipate shifts 2-3 months out and guide the team through pivots as priorities change

Team Coaching & Facilitation
Coach current Product Owners — who currently operate more like business analysts — to think and operate at a true product management level

Facilitate cross-product triage and planning conversations, understanding what's coming this week, next week, and next month across the portfolio

Support (not necessarily run) ceremonies like standups, grooming, and retros — existing team leads handle day-to-day facilitation, but you'll need visibility into these to inform the bigger picture

Process & Reporting
Fix broken sprint structure and reporting hygiene (currently, dev and QA work is mixed into a single sprint, breaking velocity and burndown tracking)

Establish consistent Jira ticket hygiene and standards across teams

Build reporting that can travel up to the executive level — clear, concise status that shows what's happening and why

Cross-Functional & Cross-Timezone Coordination
Bridge the gap between customer-facing teams (CSMs) and engineering/product — Mobile Commons operates as both a product company and a marketing agency, and requests from custom/high-touch clients need a cleaner intake process

Improve communication structure across a distributed team spanning US, India, Ukraine, and Russia — including async workflows, written standups, and centralized communication channels

Build strong working relationships across engineering and product — success here isn't just about engineering delivery, it's about making both sides effective

Organizational Assessment
In the first weeks, assess team structure and current process maturity across products, and provide a clear recommendation: is the current structure sufficient, or are additional roles (e.g., a Scrum Master or a second PM) needed?

What We're Looking ForMust-Haves
10+ years of experience in product/project management, ideally with progression into strategic product ownership

Proven experience running Agile/Scrum practices — certification (CSM, SAFe, or equivalent) strongly preferred

Demonstrated experience managing or coaching offshore/distributed engineering teams (India, Eastern Europe, or similar)

Strong systems thinking — comfortable zooming out from a single ticket to see organizational-level patterns and root causes

Experience fixing broken or immature PM processes (sprint structure, reporting, ticket hygiene) at a prior company

Excellent communication skills — able to translate technical/operational detail for executive audiences

Nice-to-Haves
Prior experience in a hybrid product + services/agency environment

Familiarity with a modern web tech stack (Java, Ruby on Rails, Elixir, or similar) — not required, but helpful for building credibility with engineering

Experience in martech, adtech, or mobile messaging/communications platforms

What This Person Is NOT
Not someone who needs to be told exactly what to do — this role is explicitly not "monkey work"

Not primarily a hands-on daily Scrum Master for a single team (existing leads cover that) — though comfort stepping in when needed is a plus

Not required to be a deep technical expert in any specific language/framework

Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
A clear, socialized product roadmap across mCommons, Waterfall, Mappy, and Rant & Rave

Diagnosed and proposed a fix for the broken sprint/reporting structure

Existing Product Owners showing early signs of leveling up toward strategic thinking, not just ticket execution

A recommendation on whether additional roles (Scrum Master, junior PM) are needed

Improved visibility for leadership into weekly/monthly status across the whole portfolio
