About The Role

Today, roughly 40% of all transactions on the Egyptian Exchange flow through Thndr. Every one of those trades has to be funded, and every pound, dirham, or soon riyal, a user makes has to be money they can actually take back out. Money has to move, into accounts, out to banks, between our own books and the market, accurately and on time, every single time. That is the Money Movements team.

We move more than 1 billion EGP every day across hundreds of thousands of individual movements, and the figure we care about most is how many of them go wrong, which we work relentlessly to keep as close to zero as possible. We connect directly to banks, payment gateways, and payment providers, settle with the exchanges and asset managers, and write and maintain our own backoffice across Egypt and the UAE. Underpinning all of it is our own in-house ledger, built on Tiger Beetle, a bleeding-edge financial database that gives us the correctness and throughput this domain demands. We do this across two markets today, with Saudi Arabia coming next.

This is a sensitive system. When money is in motion, uptime and correctness are not nice-to-haves, they are the entire job. A delayed settlement, a double credit, or a balance that does not reconcile is never just a bug, it is real money belonging to real people. You would be working alongside some of our strongest engineers on problems that are unusually hard and unusually consequential, owning systems that the rest of the platform quietly depends on.

What You'll Do

Design, build, and operate the services that move money in and out of Thndr, including deposits, withdrawals, settlement, and reconciliation, across Egypt and the UAE. Own the correctness and reliability of these systems end to end. Money that flows through your code has to land in the right place, in the right amount, every time. Build and maintain integrations with banks, payment gateways, payment providers, and asset managers, and handle the messy realities that come with them: timeouts, partial failures, retries, and the occasional provider that goes down at the worst possible moment. Raise the bar on quality and operational discipline, with strong observability, sensible on-call, thorough testing, and systems that fail safely when something goes wrong. Partner closely with our finance and operations teams, and help bring the same connectivity and rigor to Saudi Arabia as we expand.

What You'll Need

A strong track record of designing, shipping, and operating reliable backend systems in production, used by large numbers of people. Real depth in distributed systems, and a clear understanding of what it takes to keep them correct under load and under failure. Comfort owning systems end to end, from design through production and on-call. You care not just about writing the code, but about how it behaves at 3am. Familiarity with our stack, or the confidence to get there quickly: Python, C#, . NET Core, Postgre SQL, SQL Server, Rabbit MQ, and Redis. A high bar for correctness and operational discipline. You understand what it means to run a system where a mistake has real consequences for real people. A clear, candid communicator who can hold their own with other engineers and work closely with the finance and operations teams who rely on what you build. Strong debugging skills. When a balance is off by 50 cents across a million transactions, you can find the real cause, not just a quick fix.

Who Are We?

Thndr was founded on a bold dream to democratize access to investing through smart tech and human-centric design. This is simply our way of saying we give anyone with a smartphone the simple and easy access they need to preserve and grow their wealth. At the same time, we’re shaping the future of investing while actively driving the economies we serve by promoting local investment products.

History has shown that investing is the single greatest way to build long-term wealth, but before Thndr, only a very small percentage of people had access to it due to:

High barriers to entry — In the form of excessive minimum account balances, complex, outdated onboarding, and low financial literacy. Irrelevant experience — Catered toward expert traders and financial specialists, therefore alienating the majority of the population. Fragmented offering — Investment products were not gathered in a single, intuitive outlet.

We don't just talk about change, we deliver it. Here's a glimpse into our impact so far:

5.5 million app downloads EGP 1B+ average daily traded value across 2025#1 digital investing platform in Egypt for the third consecutive year76% of users are first-time investors40% of our users come from outside of capital cities and have previously had limited access to financial institutions

Building on the success of our core platform, we are continuing to change culture and break down barriers by launching Rumble, the subscription-based investment recommendations platform.

Rumble was born with the vision to empower everyday individuals to build wealth confidently and intelligently through access to timely and in-depth advice from the industry’s top experts.

Going beyond traditional investment advice, it offers long and short-term investment recommendations and financial content through engaging articles and videos that guide users on their financial journey and maximize their returns.

At Thndr, we're looking for people driven by our mission to help us democratize investing across the MENA region.

IFRC uses the Triple R response, resilience and respect to deliver on Strategy 2030. IFRC responds to disasters and crises, ensuring timely, coordinated and locally led humanitarian action. IFRC supports its members in building community resilience in the areas of climate and environment, health and wellbeing, and migration and displacement. IFRC promotes respect for our fundamental principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality, including in our work on values, power and inclusion. The IFRC focuses throughout on our core mandate our raison d tre of strategic and operational coordination, humanitarian diplomacy, National Society development, and accountability. IFRC is led by its Secretary General and has its Headquarters in Geneva and five regional offices in Africa (Nairobi); the Americas (Panama); Asia Pacific (Kuala Lumpur); Europe (Budapest); and MENA (Beirut) as well as representation offices, service centres and delegations across the globe. IFRC is led by its Secretary General, and has its Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. IFRC has five regional offices in Africa, Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa, Europe, and the Americas. Together, the Geneva Headquarters and the field structure (regional, cluster and country) comprise the IFRC Secretariat. IFRC has a zero-tolerance policy on conduct that is incompatible with the aims and objectives of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, including sexual exploitation and abuse, sexual harassment and other forms of harassment, abuse of authority, discrimination, and lack of integrity (including but not limited to financial misconduct). IFRC also adheres to strict child safeguarding principles.

In virtually all countries, people increasingly rely on and expect a diverse range of digital services (e.g., through their mobile devices) to interact with local government, companies, and community organizations and services. This disruption is already happening to humanitarian assistance. Yet, the Digital Divide remains a persistent and significant challenge at both national and local levels. The need for a successful and large-scale digital transformation is urgent. And Digitally Transforming the IFRC and its 191 members is a complex process which requires collaborative action and support across the membership. The DTD provides strategic leadership and guides the IFRC Secretariat as well as the members network to adapt and innovate humanitarian services, drawing on digital services, data-enabled decision-making, and other opportunities for digital transformation in support of the IFRC s Strategy 2030. Under the leadership of the Director, these units and teams serve as members of the global DTD management team, along with the CISO and Regional DT managers. The AI & Data unit is responsible to deliver greater value from IFRC s data, and ensures the development and implementation of IFRCs data and AI governance and strategy, in close collaboration with the IFRC s Data Protection Office and through indirect management of data professionals in other departments. The unit oversees all data operations, data product lifecycles and manages the organisation s data platform, as well as the coordination and support to AI initiatives. The Senior Full Stack Developer will also interact extensively with internal and external AI and data experts, private sector, academia, external suppliers, vendors and consultants who are sourced to deliver data-related activities. The Senior Full Stack Developer will be primarily responsible for the management and development of end-to-end data projects, from clarifying requirements with business requestors, to schema preparation, data modelling, data engineering, report development in PowerBI and facilitation of User Testing pipelines, to support IFRC s operations in multiple sectors (e.g. Finance, Logistics, Human Resources mobilization, Project management and others). The position holder will operate on IFRC s Data Platform, based on Microsoft Fabric and Synapse using Data Vault and Dimensional modeling techniques for consumption in Power BI. He/she will lead a small (two to three) team of full stack developers, ensuring overall coordination, alignment in approach, management of priorities, improvements in data operations, and continuous learning and mentoring.
