About The Role

About The Role:

You will be Soar’s hands-on leader for business intelligence and analytics, accountable for both the direction of the function and the work that makes it useful. You will work directly with business leaders to identify the right questions, write SQL, build semantic models, develop dashboards, and turn analysis into decisions across UX, credit, collections, investment, and operations.

You will own the layer between raw data and business answers: the event taxonomy, metric definitions, and curated semantic models that both people and AI agents rely on. Your ownership includes setting priorities, establishing standards, and personally delivering the foundations and most consequential analytical work.

The boundaries are explicit. You own the semantic layer, business definitions, and analytics products. The architecture team owns ingestion pipelines and data contracts. The AI team owns agent tooling and orchestration. You supply the trusted business foundation they build on.

This is a director-level individual contributor and player-coach role, with a substantial share of your time spent building and analyzing. As the function grows, you will hire and mentor selectively while remaining directly involved in delivery. Success means departments make better decisions faster and AI agents provide answers the business can trust.

Key Responsibilities:

Set priorities and deliver the work. Own the BI and analytics roadmap, agree priorities with business leaders, and personally take critical projects from business question through modeling, analysis, and adoption.

Build and own the semantic layer. Design, implement, and maintain the event taxonomy, entity models covering users, devices, sessions, and loans, and business metric definitions on Snowflake using dbt or an equivalent transformation layer.

Deliver decision-ready analysis. Write SQL, investigate performance changes, test business hypotheses, and translate findings into clear recommendations for UX, credit, collections, investment, and operations.

Build BI products people use. Develop and maintain executive reporting and departmental dashboards, with named business owners and defined decisions behind each one. Measure adoption and improve or retire reporting based on its value.

Establish consistent business metrics. Work directly with department leaders to define KPIs, resolve conflicting definitions, and maintain a practical business glossary that supports reporting and self-service analysis.

Make AI analytics trustworthy. Curate the semantic models agents query, build and maintain a golden-question evaluation set using real business questions and verified answers, review agent-generated SQL, and investigate accuracy failures with the AI team.

Reconstruct the customer journey. Build sessionization, funnel, and cohort models spanning mobile interaction → API → decision → outcome, using trace and correlation IDs to connect events across systems.

Implement governance in the analytics layer. Partner with security, GRC, and architecture to implement and verify PII masking, row-access policies, department-scoped access, and auditability across analyst- and agent-accessible datasets.

Improve data at the source. Identify instrumentation gaps and data quality issues through hands-on investigation. Define business requirements and work with architecture on producer-level data contracts and fixes.

Raise the quality of analytics delivery. Establish testing, documentation, version control, and review practices. Hire and mentor analysts or analytics engineers as needed, remaining an active contributor to models, code, and analysis.

What Success Looks Like — First 12 Months :

A prioritized BI and analytics roadmap tied to business decisions, with a consistent delivery cadence.

A documented event taxonomy, business glossary, and KPI framework adopted across departments, with named owners.

A semantic layer in production that you have directly helped build, powering dashboards and AI queries with tested, documented models.

Live executive and departmental dashboards for UX, credit, collections, and investment, with weekly active use and clear evidence that they support decisions.

Customer journey, funnel, and cohort models that connect product behavior to lending and operational outcomes.

A golden-question evaluation suite with measured agent accuracy, agreed acceptance thresholds, and improvement quarter over quarter.

Masking and access policies enforced on every dataset exposed to analysts or agents.

Concrete examples of your analysis influencing business decisions, with outcomes tracked against agreed baselines.

Requirements

Requirements:

8+ years in business intelligence, analytics, analytics engineering, or related data roles, including ownership of cross-functional analytics priorities and company- or domain-level metric definitions.

Recent, substantial hands-on experience writing SQL, building data models, delivering dashboards, and conducting analysis. You should be comfortable discussing work you personally built and how it changed a business decision.

Expert SQL, including semi-structured data such as JSON at event and log scale, and strong Snowflake experience.

Hands-on depth with dbt or an equivalent transformation or semantic layer, supported by strong data modeling, testing, and documentation practices.

Strong BI development skills in Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools, and the judgment to know when a dashboard is the wrong answer.

Practical product and event analytics experience, including sessionization, funnels, cohort analysis, and customer journey measurement.

The ability to move between executive discussions and detailed implementation, translating ambiguous questions into reliable metrics, models, and recommendations.

Strong business acumen and stakeholder fluency, including comfort with credit, collections, lending, or investment discussions and the willingness to challenge assumptions.

Working familiarity with LLM and agent-based analytics, including text-to-SQL, semantic models for AI, and evaluation of model outputs.

Experience setting technical standards and mentoring others while maintaining direct ownership of delivery.

Practical understanding of data governance, access controls, and auditability in analytics environments.

Nice to Have:

Fintech or lending experience, ideally in KSA/GCC or another regulated market.

Experience building an analytics capability from an early foundation.

Python for analysis and light automation.

Experience implementing masking, row-level access, and data quality monitoring.

Familiarity with OpenTelemetry or event instrumentation concepts.

Arabic proficiency.

We're looking for a Senior Product Analyst who can help make data a genuine part of how Product operates. This isn't a role where you'll wait for a Product Manager to ask for a dashboard or pull a report after a decision has already been made. You'll be expected to get close to the product, understand how customers actually use it, spot patterns others may have missed, and bring insights to the table before someone asks for them. You'll operate at two levels. At the product and feature level , you'll help teams understand whether customers are discovering, adopting, engaging with, and getting value from what we're building. You'll identify friction, investigate unexpected behaviour, evaluate experiments, and help teams decide what to improve, scale, reposition, or stop. At the leadership level , you'll connect those individual product signals to the bigger picture - helping leadership understand product performance, emerging opportunities, risks, and where we should invest next. The strongest person in this role will be able to move comfortably between a SQL query, a conversation with a Product Manager, and a leadership presentation - and translate the same data into something meaningful for each audience. What You'll Do Turn product data into decisions. You'll go beyond reporting what happened to understand why it happened, what it means, and what Product should do differently as a result. Help teams define what success actually means. You'll work with Product Managers and other stakeholders to establish meaningful KPIs, success metrics, and measurement plans before features and initiatives are launched. Understand how customers use our products. You'll analyse journeys, funnels, cohorts, adoption, engagement, retention, churn, and behavioural patterns to identify where customers are succeeding and where they're getting stuck. Evaluate whether our products are delivering value. You'll assess feature performance and help teams make evidence-based decisions about whether to improve, scale, reposition, or discontinue initiatives. Bring insights into product discovery. You'll use quantitative evidence alongside customer, product, and market context to help teams understand which problems are worth solving and where the biggest opportunities exist. Challenge assumptions with evidence. When a team believes a feature is working, adoption is strong, or customers are behaving a certain way, you'll be comfortable asking, What does the data actually tell us? constructively and without creating friction. Identify opportunities before you're asked. You won't wait for a stakeholder to request a report. You'll proactively investigate anomalies, emerging trends, underperforming areas, and changes in customer behaviour and bring forward the ones that matter. Support experimentation. You'll help teams define hypotheses, success criteria, and measurement approaches, then analyse experiments and A/B tests to determine what the evidence tells us. Make complex analysis easy to understand. You'll turn large datasets and complicated analysis into clear stories, visualisations, recommendations, and decisions that make sense to both technical and non-technical audiences. Give leadership a clear view of product performance. You'll create reporting that connects detailed product and feature performance to broader business objectives, highlighting progress, drivers, risks, and recommended actions rather than simply presenting numbers. Help Product become more self-sufficient with data. You'll build repeatable analytical frameworks, dashboards, documentation, and self-service resources so teams don't need to come to you for every question. Raise data literacy across Product. You'll coach Product Managers on metrics, analysis, and interpretation, and use workshops, office hours, and day-to-day collaboration to make better use of data part of how the team works. Build trust across teams. You'll work closely with Product, Design, Engineering, and business stakeholders and influence decisions without relying on formal authority. What Success Looks Like In your first 3-6 months, you'll be building trust. Product teams know you as someone who understands the product, asks the right questions, and brings useful insights rather than simply producing reports. As you establish yourself, you'll start changing how decisions are made. Product Managers are defining meaningful success metrics earlier, teams are using evidence to evaluate their decisions, and you're proactively surfacing opportunities and risks rather than responding to reporting requests. Ultimately, success means Product becomes more intelligent. Leadership has a clear view of what's driving product performance, teams understand why customers behave the way they do, and decisions about priorities and investment are increasingly based on evidence rather than assumptions. The shift we're looking for is simple: From What happened? Why did it happen? What should we do about it? Who You Are You're naturally curious. When you see an unexpected number, you don't just add it to a report you want to know what's behind it. You think commercially, not just analytically. You understand that an interesting insight isn't necessarily a useful one. You can connect product behaviour to customer value, business performance, and investment decisions. You don't need to be given the question. You're comfortable starting with an ambiguous problem, figuring out what needs to be understood, and determining what analysis will actually help answer it. You can zoom in and out. You can spend time investigating why a particular feature's adoption dropped while still understanding how that finding connects to the wider product strategy. You're willing to challenge people. You don't simply validate what a stakeholder already believes. You're comfortable presenting evidence that contradicts an assumption, while doing so in a way that builds trust rather than defensiveness. You know that being right isn't enough.

Desired Candidate Profile

You're naturally curious. You can explain an analytical finding to a Product Manager, work through the technical detail with an Engineer, and present the business implication to leadership. You're proactive and self-directed. You don't wait for a ticket to appear in your queue. You notice something worth investigating and take ownership of finding out what it means. You're comfortable with ambiguity and a changing environment. Not every question will have a clean dataset or obvious answer. You know how to work with imperfect information while being transparent about its limitations. You have 4+ years of experience in product analytics, digital analytics, business intelligence, or a closely related field, with experience working directly with digital Product teams. You're technically strong. You can independently use SQL to explore and analyse large datasets and are comfortable working with product analytics or business intelligence platforms such as Mixpanel, Heap, Pendo, Metabase, Amplitude, Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools. You understand product metrics deeply , including funnels, journeys, cohorts, retention, engagement, adoption, churn, and customer behaviour. You can translate ambiguous business questions into structured analysis and understand the difference between finding a correlation and understanding what it actually means. You're comfortable working remotely and can communicate effectively across teams without relying on being in the same room. You have professional working proficiency in English. Nice to Have Experience designing or evaluating A/B tests and experiments. Experience with statistical analysis. Familiarity with modern data stacks, data warehouses, transformation tools, event tracking, analytics instrumentation, or data governance. Experience building or improving a product analytics function or data culture. Experience presenting product recommendations to senior leadership. Working knowledge of Python or R. Location: Cairo, Egypt (hybrid), with roughly 25% regional travel Entity: Zettasoft Egypt (https://www.zettasoft.com) Reports to: Managing Director, Zettasoft Egypt
About Zettasoft Egypt Zettasoft has been building software and advising technology leaders since 2007. Zettasoft Egypt, our Cairo office, serves the Middle East and North Africa with IT consulting, custom software development, and Odoo ERP implementation. For years, the same Cairo team has also designed and shipped production software for American clients, to US standards and on US timelines. Why This Role Exists Odoo built our reputation in the region, but it isn't the ceiling. The delivery muscle for much more is already here and already proven. AI enablement, custom application development, data analytics, cybersecurity operations, cloud management, and fractional CIO/CTO leadership have all been exercised for US clients for years. What we haven't done is sell that capability at scale to the region we sit in. The demand exists across Egypt and the Gulf, and we are barely touching it. We are hiring a Director of Business Development to change that and to build a regional pipeline that extends well beyond ERP implementation. What Zettasoft Egypt ultimately becomes in the region—the mix of consulting, engineering services, and products we lead with—is deliberately open. This role will help define it based on what the market buys. What You Will DoGenerate and own the pipeline• Build and execute a regional business development plan covering Egypt and priority Gulf markets (KSA, UAE, and selectively Qatar and Kuwait)• Identify which industries to go after (manufacturing, distribution and trading, education, retail, healthcare, financial services) and decide where our capability and their spending meet• Source new opportunities through direct outreach, referrals, industry events, and your own network. This role carries a number.• Qualify rigorously. We'd rather run three real deals well than twelve poorly. Expand the portfolio beyond Odoo• Position and sell the full Zettasoft catalogue: AI enablement and engineering, custom software development, data analytics and Power BI automation, cybersecurity strategy and operations, cloud and infrastructure management, and fractional CIO/CTO advisory• Translate technical capability into commercial language a CFO, COO, or business owner will act on• Lead with our strongest differentiator: a Cairo team with a US-client delivery track record, available to regional buyers without the cost or distance of a Western firm Find the software product this market needs• Listen for the problems that come up in deal after deal: the workarounds, the compliance burdens, the gaps between what Odoo does and what regional businesses need• Build the commercial case for the strongest of these: who buys it, what they pay today, and what a regional market is worth• Recruit design partners from your pipeline and existing accounts, and work with our product and engineering leadership to take a validated idea to first paying customers Recurring themes include Arabic-first AI applications, regional e-invoicing and regulatory compliance, and vertical extensions on top of Odoo. We are not committed to any direction yet; making the case is part of the job. Grow existing accounts• Map our Odoo and consulting clients for cross-sell and expansion opportunities• Build senior relationships that outlast individual projects and convert one-off implementations into multi-year engagements Build the partner ecosystem• Deepen our partnership with Odoo into a steady source of referred pipeline• Identify and develop new channel, reseller, and systems-integrator relationships across the region Run deals end to end• Lead every opportunity from first conversation through discovery, scoping, proposal, negotiation, and close• Work with our technical and management teams to turn a stated problem into a solution we can deliver; you bring the client context, they bring the architecture• Own pricing discipline and margin outcomes alongside the Managing Director• Maintain accurate forecasts and pipeline hygiene in our CRM, and hand off cleanly to delivery Inform strategy• Research where the market is going and recommend where Zettasoft should expand next: which countries, industries, and service lines deserve investment• Feed what you learn about competitors, pricing, and demand into our positioning, marketing, and event strategy
What Success Looks Like in Year One• A qualified pipeline built from scratch across at least two markets, with a repeatable outbound and referral motion• Signed engagements in at least two service lines outside Odoo implementation• A researched business case for one regional software product, with named design partners, strong enough for a build-or-not decision• Measurable revenue expansion within the existing client base• At least one partner or channel relationship generating referred opportunities• A clear recommendation on where to concentrate our commercial effort in year two
What You Bring Required• 8+ years in business development, enterprise sales, or client-facing consulting, with at least 4 years selling technology services (IT consulting, systems integration, custom development, managed services, or ERP) in the MENA region• A record of originating and closing new business you personally sourced• A solid technical foundation, from a computer science or engineering degree or equivalent hands-on experience: you can scope a custom software build, question an architecture, and speak fluently about cloud platforms, ERP systems, data and analytics, and modern AI without an engineer beside you• Credibility with owners, CFOs, and COOs, and comfort being the most senior person in the room representing us• Fluency in the region: you know how buying decisions get made in Egypt and the Gulf, and you have relationships worth leveraging• Strong written and spoken English and Arabic• Comfort with ambiguity and an appetite for building the function rather than inheriting one• Willingness to travel regionally, roughly 25% of the time Strongly preferred• Earlier hands-on experience as a solutions architect, presales engineer, developer, or technical consultant• Experience selling into Gulf markets from Egypt, or an existing network of buyers and partners there• Background in a consultancy, systems integrator, or software services firm rather than pure product sales• Familiarity with Odoo, Microsoft Dynamics, or comparable ERP ecosystems• Exposure to selling AI, data and analytics, or cybersecurity services• Experience building partner or channel programs• Experience taking a software product to market, whether as early-stage Saa S, a new product line inside a services firm, or your own venture
What We Offer• Competitive compensation package• Direct access to senior leadership in Cairo and the US• A proven delivery organization behind everything you sell, plus an established regional client list to build from• Ownership of the regional commercial strategy, and the budget and authority to build a team as the pipeline earns it• A path into product: if you find the opportunity and make the case, you will help build and lead it• Hybrid working from our Cairo office• Investment in continuous learning, including partner certifications
