Join us

At Vodafone, we’re not just shaping the future of connectivity for our customers – we’re shaping the future for everyone who joins our team. When you work with us, you’re part of a global mission to connect people, solve complex challenges, and create a sustainable and more inclusive world. If you want to grow your career whilst finding the perfect balance between work and life, Vodafone offers the opportunities to help you belong and make a real impact.

Role purpose

To support Vodafone’s key strategic growth areas in digital industry and following the agile mind-set requires a highly capable and experienced agile coach.

To raise the delivery capability of a group of enterprise squads — by developing the Scrum Masters who lead them, removing the systemic obstacles that slow the squads down, and helping the business make decisions based on evidence rather than status reporting.

Also, ensuring that the agile methodology is applied within VBU Tribe.

Role responsibility

You will educate employees at all levels, including senior, and at times clients, on agile principles, providing them with tools for implementing the process in their own work. Providing training sessions and teaching valuable skills that lead toward the organization-wide adoption of agile methodologies.

As a mentor, you are responsible for guiding teams into the agile methodology, providing employees with feedback and means of improvement, catalysing organizational growth and answering questions. You provide hands-on support to all employees, collaborating with people across widely varying levels and roles, leading teams toward further understanding and adoption of agile as well as overall company growth and improvement.

This task entails implementing agile process, principles and practices across all levels and departments in an organization. The agile coach must use techniques that increase collaboration, predictability, transparency and promote a culture of experimentation and innovation. To do this, the agile coach must also embody the agile principles and lead by example.

You will work closely with agile teams to ensure the agile framework is being well digested, followed and improved over sprints.

Key accountabilities

Develop the Scrum Masters: coach and develop a group of Scrum Masters by setting development goals, observe them at work, give direct feedback, and build their capability to facilitate and challenge.

Hold the standard for the Scrum Master role across your squads and raise performance concerns early and clearly.

Diagnose the real constraints on delivery — flow, dependencies, batch size, unplanned work, backlog quality, release cadence — and lead the changes that address them.

Coach Product Owners on backlog health, prioritization and outcome definition.

Own the cross-squad problems: take responsibility for dependency management within your group of squads and cross into other enterprise domains, where you hold no formal authority.

Introduce and embed meaningful delivery measures beyond velocity and RAG status, and coach leaders on how to read them without misusing them.

Provide Tribe Heads and the Enterprise Agile Manager with an honest, evidence-based view of delivery health.

Take end-to-end ownership and accountability of establishing agile values, methods, principles and practices for the delivery of digital projects.

Take the role of agile coach and facilitate discussions and conflict resolution and enable the exploration of alternatives or different approaches and ensure no impact on the delivery of projects.

Understanding of digital channels technologies and architecture.

Proven track record of managing complex software projects with agile methodology.

Coaching and developing others.

Influence without authority, build credibility and alignment across tribes.

Facilitation: run difficult conversations, workshops and planning events so that groups reach real decisions.

Collaboration: work as one team with the other agile coaches and the Enterprise Agile Manager, sharing practice rather than protecting territory.

Qualifications & experience

5+ years in agile roles, including at least 3 years as a Scrum Master and demonstrable experience coaching Scrum Masters or agile teams.

Hands-on experience coaching product and software delivery teams.

Strong working knowledge of Scrum and Kanban, and of flow-based measurement (cycle time, lead time, throughput, WIP).

Practical experience with Jira, including using its data to diagnose delivery problems.

Experience influencing senior stakeholders without formal authority.

Certification such as ICP-ACC, SPC, or equivalent demonstrable capability.

BSc or MSc level degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Telecommunications.

Preferred to have worked in telecommunications, or another complex enterprise / B2B environment.

Preferred to have exposure to product discovery, UX collaboration or design practices.

dependencies and ensure they are documented and configurable during deployment Anticipate differences between the development and client environments, including permissions, policies, existing branding, retention settings, app catalog configuration, and other tenant-level constraints Develop deployment runbooks that allow a non-technical client maintainer to deploy the solution with minimal external assistance Include validation, troubleshooting, and rollback procedures in deployment documentation Support the client through deployment without directly accessing or modifying their production environment

SHAREPOINT IMPLEMENTATION & SPFX

Implement modern Share Point solutions using native Share Point functionality wherever appropriate Develop production-quality SPFx web parts and extensions using React and Type Script Manage the complete SPFx development workflow, including development, build, bundling, packaging, testing, and deployment preparation Use PnP Power layouts, themes, and native web parts Use Microsoft Graph where Microsoft 365 data or functionality cannot be appropriately provided through native Share Point capabilities Understand API permission continue managing the solution after the engagement ends

DELIVERY & ROLLOUT SHAPING

Identify technical risks and communicate them early, particularly where requirements may require unsupported functionality, additional custom development, or unresolved client decisions Design reusable components and patterns that can support the larger rollout Contribute technical input to the work independently without direct access to the client's production environment Strong troubleshooting skills, including the ability to diagnose issues from screenshots, logs, configuration information, and user feedback Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce precise and practical deployment documentation Able to teach and enable a client maintainer without assuming prior coding or Share Point expertise Pragmatic and able to distinguish between genuine technical requirements and unnecessary customization Proactive in identifying dependencies, risks, and
