Draftsman – Auto CAD & EPLANJob Summary The Draftsman is responsible for preparing, developing, modifying, and maintaining accurate technical drawings and engineering documentation using Auto CAD and EPLAN. The position focuses on electrical and automation systems, including automation control panels, communication cabinets, MCC panels, VFD panels, instrumentation, network layouts, system architecture diagrams, wiring diagrams, and detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs). The Draftsman works closely with engineers, technicians, project managers, and other project team members to produce accurate drawings based on engineering specifications, site requirements, and project standards. The role also ensures proper revision control and that all drawings and documentation are updated throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Prepare and modify electrical and automation drawings using Auto CAD and EPLAN. Develop detailed drawings for automation panels, PLC panels, MCCs, VFD panels, and communication/network cabinets. Prepare instrumentation hookup drawings and related documentation. Prepare electrical schematics, control wiring diagrams, power distribution drawings, terminal diagrams, and panel layouts. Develop network layouts and system architecture drawings for industrial automation and communication systems. Prepare panel general arrangement drawings, component layouts, cable schedules, terminal plans, and interconnection drawings. Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and component lists using EPLAN and project documentation.
