JOB PURPOSEResponsible for leading and controlling all body and paint repair operations for heavy bus fleets to ensure buses are restored to OEM standards with optimal quality, cost, and turnaround time. The engineer will directly supervise repair activities for bus types including MCV, Volvo, MAN, and Irizar.<br>KEY RESPONSIBILITIESA. Technical & Repair Operations (Core)- Lead full body repair process: accident damage assessment, chassis straightening, panel beating, welding, fiber-glass repair, and structural alignment for MCV, Volvo, MAN, Irizar buses.- Supervise complete paint cycle: surface preparation, putty application, sanding, primer, base coat, clear coat, color matching, and polishing in spray booth.- Diagnose structural damages and prepare detailed technical reports including repair methodology, spare parts list (BOM), estimated man-hours, and material consumption.- Ensure all repairs comply with OEM body builder manuals and safety standards.- Approve final quality inspection before bus handover to Operations. B. Workshop Management & Optimization- Plan and schedule daily workload in body & paint shop to achieve target TAT (Turnaround Time).- Manage workshop resources: manpower, paint booth utilization, compressors, tools, and paint mixing room.- Control paint material consumption (paint, hardener, thinner, clear coat) and minimize waste and rework percentage.- Maintain workshop 5S, housekeeping, and HSE compliance for chemical handling, ventilation, and waste disposal.- Ensure preventive maintenance of workshop equipment: spray booths, paint mixing machines, sanders. C. Cost, KPIs & Documentation- Prepare accurate cost estimates for insurance cases and internal fleet repair.- Track and improve KPIs: Bus Turnaround Time, First Time Right %, Rework Rate, Paint Material Cost / Bus, Booth Productivity.- Maintain all job cards, paint codes, repair history, and documentation in ERP / Fleet Management System.- Coordinate with Spare Parts, Procurement, Insurance, and Fleet Planning teams. D. People & Safety Leadership- Lead, train, and motivate team of body repair technicians, denters, and painters.- Conduct daily toolbox talks and enforce PPE and HSE policy at all times.- Evaluate team performance and identify training needs for new repair techniques.<br>REQUIREMENTSEducation- Must have Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering - Mechanical specialty is mandatory.
