Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Electric Forklift Maintenance Engineer responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and commissioning of electric forklifts and material-handling equipment. The role requires strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to provide efficient on-site technical support. The position will focus on maximizing equipment uptime, reducing breakdowns, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering high-quality maintenance services to customers or internal operations. These responsibilities are consistent with current forklift service-engineer roles in Egypt, which emphasize preventive maintenance, fault tracing, commissioning, service reporting, and customer support. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for electric forklifts and material-handling equipment. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and control-system faults. Inspect batteries, chargers, motors, controllers, contactors, sensors, wiring, braking systems, steering systems, lifting systems, and other forklift components. Conduct regular inspections and identify potential failures before they lead to equipment downtime. Perform fault tracing, repairs, component replacement, and equipment adjustments. Use appropriate diagnostic tools, electrical testing equipment, and technical manuals to identify root causes. Carry out commissioning and re-commissioning of new or repaired forklifts when required. Respond to breakdowns and service calls within agreed service timelines. Perform on-site maintenance at customer locations when required. Prepare accurate maintenance and service reports, including diagnosis, work performed, replaced parts, and recommendations. Coordinate with the spare-parts team to ensure required components are available and used efficiently. Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment history. Identify recurring failures and recommend corrective actions to improve equipment reliability. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company HSE and safety procedures. Maintain and properly use company tools, diagnostic equipment, vehicles, and other assigned assets. Provide technical guidance to technicians and operators when required. Communicate professionally with customers and ensure customer satisfaction after each service visit. Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime and maintenance costs. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.2–5 years of experience in forklift, material-handling equipment, industrial equipment, or similar maintenance roles; direct electric-forklift experience is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic systems. Good understanding of electric motors, batteries, chargers, controllers, sensors, contactors, and electrical circuits. Good mechanical knowledge, particularly related to forklifts and industrial equipment. Knowledge of hydraulic systems, steering, braking, and lifting mechanisms is an advantage. Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams, hydraulic diagrams, and technical manuals. Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills. Experience using multimeters and other electrical/diagnostic tools. Good knowledge of preventive maintenance practices. Good command of English, especially technical English. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Good planning, organization, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and under pressure. Willingness to travel to customer sites when required. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with electric forklifts or warehouse/material-handling equipment. About the role Head of sales promotes the sales of electric bus and trucks fleets in the region of North Africa, by developing and maintaining high level contacts and a fluid relation with existing and potential customers (PTA and PTO). In addition, Head of sales coordinates the activities of the supporting teams at the HQ and in North Africa related to the regional tenders and orders. Head of sales is part of the sales department and reports to the Head of Commercial Vehicles, MEA.<br>Key responsibilities Responsible for commercial vehicle market development in North Africa, including market information collection, competitor analysis and pricing positioning etc. Establish strong relationships with local governments and key clients to advocate and drive the electrification of public transportation, converting the ICE fleet to electric vehicle. Coordinate, supervise and support the activities of the BYD team allocated to the region of responsibility, including the sales assistant, tender specialist and after-sales team (in coordination with the After-sales Manager MEA).
