<p>We are looking for an Architectural Designer / Architectural Technician to join our team remotely and support us with residential projects across the UK.</p><p></p><p>This is a fully remote role. You will be provided with survey information, measurements, photographs and design direction for each project. Your role will be to turn this information into accurate, well-presented architectural drawings.</p><p></p><p>You will mainly be responsible for producing existing drawings from the surveys we provide, developing proposed drawings based on our designs, and preparing detailed technical drawings for Building Control.</p><p>You will also work alongside our structural engineer, incorporating their structural design and calculations into the architectural drawing package and presenting the information clearly so that the drawings are coordinated and ready for Building Control and construction.</p><p>Projects will typically include house extensions, loft conversions, internal alterations, renovations and other residential projects.</p><p></p><p>Typical responsibilities will include:</p><p></p><ul><li><p>Producing accurate existing floor plans, elevations and sections from survey information provided</p></li><li><p>Developing proposed drawings based on our sketches and design instructions</p></li><li><p>Preparing planning application drawing packages</p></li><li><p>Producing detailed Building Control drawings and construction details</p></li><li><p>Developing wall, roof, floor, insulation and junction details</p></li><li><p>Working alongside our structural engineer and incorporating structural information into the drawings</p></li><li><p>Coordinating steelwork, beams, columns, padstones and other structural elements with the architectural design</p></li><li><p>Presenting structural and technical information clearly within the drawing package</p></li><li><p>Identifying clashes or inconsistencies between architectural and structural drawings</p></li><li><p>Updating drawings following design changes, planning comments or Building Control comments</p></li><li><p>Checking dimensions, levels and coordination between drawings</p></li><li><p>Making sure existing, proposed and technical drawings align correctly</p></li><li><p>Organising drawing files and maintaining consistent drawing standards</p></li><li><p>Working across several residential projects at different stages</p></li></ul><p></p><p>A big part of this role is <strong>attention to detail</strong>. We are looking for someone who checks their own work carefully, notices when dimensions or drawings do not make sense and takes pride in producing accurate drawings.</p><p></p><p>You should not simply copy information onto a drawing. We want someone who thinks about what they are drawing, understands how the building is put together and flags anything that does not appear to work.</p><p>You will work closely with our team remotely, so good communication and the ability to follow instructions clearly are very important.</p><p></p><p>We currently use <strong>Vectorworks</strong>, so previous Vectorworks experience would be a strong advantage. However, we would also consider a strong candidate experienced in AutoCAD, Revit or similar software who is willing to learn Vectorworks.</p><p></p><p>Experience with UK residential architecture, Building Regulations and construction detailing would be a strong advantage. You do not need to know everything from day one, but you should have a good technical understanding of construction and be willing to learn UK standards.</p><p></p><p>We are looking for someone who wants to work with us long term.
