<strong>TITLE: </strong>Psychologist <br> <strong>TEAM/PROGRAMME: </strong>Program/ Operation <strong>LOCATION: Aswan Field Office</strong> <br> <strong>GRADE</strong>: 5 <strong>CONTRACT LENGTH: One year</strong> <br> <p><strong>CHILD SAFEGUARDING: (select only one) </strong> </p><br> <p>Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people <i><u>either</u></i> frequently (e.g. once a week or more) <u>or</u> intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.</p><br> <br> <p><strong>ROLE PURPOSE: </strong> </p><br> <p>The key purpose of this post is to provide psychosocial support services in compliance with the relevant SCI guidelines at the country office level in support to Egypt Response program. Under the supervision of MHPSS officer and the Mental Health Psycho Social Support (MHPSS) Technical Advisor (TA), the psychologist will be responsible for providing individual/group sessions for UASC and child at risk and youth need psychosocial support identified through the project activities and referrals. S/he will be responsible to conduct the needed assessments and customize the session topics based on the identified needs of the target group. S/he will also be responsible for organizing group support and awareness sessions to UASC children and children at risk and their families, and refer those with acute psychological needs to specialized services.</p><br> <p>The project is funded from the Swiss Development Corporation (SDC) and will be based in Aswan. The project duration is one year from January 2026 to December 2026. The project will be targeting Sudanese community in Aswan based in Aswan field office, and the team will be working and based across 3 friendly scpaces in areas with high Sudanese concentration as Karkar and Nasr Elnuba, working on multisectors</p><br> <p>- Child Protection: case management for children exposed to protection risks, besides providing emergency cash and protection for cash. It will also include mentorship program for children especially the unacompanied and separated children. Additionally, there will be capacity building for community leaders and teachers on CP and safeguarding. Furthermore, there will be awareness raising for children on their rights, besides awareness for their parents as well.</p><br> <p>- MHPSS: providing groups and individual mental health and psychosocial support to the children in groups and also individually according the care plan of each child. There will be also positive parenting groups conducted for the parents. Moreover, there will be community events held to enhance their wellbeing and integration.</p><br> <p>- Education: it will include renovation for community learning centers of Sudanese community, beside training to the teachers on the main technical and socio-emotional mechanisms. The project will provide education grants as well for the children enrolled in these centers. There will be also programs provided to the children who dropped out to enable them to return back to school, and other program for children who have weak literacy skills.</p><br> <p>- Livelihood: the component will have two tracks; wage employment and self employment. The 1st track will include capacity building for the beneficiaries followed by matching to employment opportunity. Beneficiaries will be supported by cash assistance and apprenticeship for 3 months. The 2nd track will be self employment starting with capacity building for the beneficiaries then provision of seed fund to start their business. Beneficiaries will have at least 3 month of coaching and monitoring. Vocational training will be also provided based on need.</p><br> <p>- Cash Assistance: the project will provide multipurpose cash assistance for vulnerable families, besides winteriation assistance as well. There will be also awareness raising on money management for those receiving the cash assistance.</p><br> <p>- Health: will include emergency nutrition screening and rapid nutritional support provided to newly arrived crisis-affected children and women. Additionally, there will be support to the public health system by training provision to staff and providing medical supplies. There will be also trainings for mental health, and GBV-related service providers in Aswan. Org. Setting and Reporting<br>This position is located in the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Cairo, within the Information Centres Service (ICS), Outreach Division (OD), Department of Global Communications (DGC). The UNIC Cairo is part of the global network of United Nations information centres, which is the principal source of information about the United Nations system in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. A new four-year phase of DEDI started in 2025 financed under the Danish Arab Partnership Programme (DAPP). The new phase is designed to address the challenges and opportunities of climate change, circular economy, green transition and Innovation in Sustainable Design. DEDI implement activities on the following three components: i) Innovation in sustainable design by youth; ii) Green environmental literacy for youth; and iii) Youth dialogue on climate and security. DEDI is hosted by UNDP in Egypt with a range of Danish and Egyptian organizations and experts engaged to lead DEDI’s dialogue and exchange activities in Egypt and Denmark. </span></p><br> <p><span>As the host institution and implementing agency for DEDI, UNDP Egypt implements the initiative, ensuring alignment with broader development priorities and providing technical, operational and administrative support. Under the new phase of DEDI (2025-2028), UNDP is responsible for grant management, partnership development, financial oversight, and technical guidance across all three components. UNDP’s involvement ensures that DEDI benefits from its extensive expertise in sustainable development, youth engagement, and climate action, as well as its established networks with governmental and non-governmental stakeholders. The ICT & Procurement Associate may supervise and/or lead the support staff if/when delegated by supervisor.</p><br> <p>The ICT Associate promotes a client-oriented approach particularly in the service of UN Common system partners and agencies. The ICT Associate works in close collaboration with Programme, Operations and projects teams in the CO, UNDP HQ staff, Regional Information Officer (RIO), and the Regional Bureau Information Manager (RBIM) to resolve complex ICT/Procurement related issues.</p><br> <p>UNDP adopts a portfolio approach to accommodate changing business needs and leverage linkages across interventions to achieve its strategic goals. Therefore, UNDP personnel are expected to work across units, functions, teams, and projects in multidisciplinary teams in order to enhance and enable horizontal collaboration.</p><br> <p><b>Duties and Responsibilities</b></p><br> <p><b>1.) Ensure implementation of ICT strategies and introduction/implementation of new technologies:</b></p><br> <ul> <li>Ensure compliance with corporate information management and technology standards, guidelines, and procedures for the CO technology environment.</li> <li>Participate in development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures in ICT services. </li> <li>Conduct market research and analysis and provide support in introducing new technology for CO system updating and improvement.</li> <li>Provide advice on and assistance in procurement of new ICT equipment for the CO and projects; and provide technical specifications and information on best options in both local and international markets. Review quotations and bids. </li> <li>Participate in development and implementation of ICT annual plan. Maintain the measures in place for business continuity and disaster recovery processes and procedures. </li> <li>Provide support for the use of ERP functionality for improved business results and improved client services.</li> <li>Provide ICT support for key events. </li> </ul> <p><b>2.) Ensure effective functioning of the CO hardware and software packages and efficient management support of shared ICT infrastructure and common services:</b></p><br> <ul> <li>Monitor shared network environments and cloud-based resources daily to ensure stable connectivity for all resident UN Agencies.</li> <li>Deploy countermeasures and cybersecurity protocols to protect the data resources of the CO and partner agencies from malicious attacks. Ensure UNDP desktop and network resources are protected from malicious virus attacks and deploy countermeasures in the event of attacks.</li> <li>Maintain an up-to-date inventory of shared ICT assets, managing their lifecycle from procurement to sustainable disposal/recycling.</li> <li>Support effective functioning (installation, operation, and maintenance) of all UNDP hardware equipment and acquisition of hardware supplies.</li> <li>Perform specific technical functions, including changing of hardware electronic components (disks, memories, network wiring, power sources, etc.) and making routine repairs.</li> <li>Maintain an up-to-date inventory and stock of supplies and spare parts in cooperation with the Administration and Procurement Teams.</li> </ul> <p><b>3.) Manage ICT contracts and vendor performance for integrated service delivery:</b></p><br> <ul> <li>Oversee technical performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for ICT-related Long-Term Agreements (LTAs) used by the CO and UN partners.</li> <li>Respond to complex technical issues and service interruptions by serving as the primary liaison between the UN and technology service providers.</li> <li>Ensure full compliance with software licensing, hardware warranties, and service-level agreements (SLAs) throughout the contract lifecycle.</li> </ul> <p><b>4.)
