<p>POSITION SUMMARY The University invites applications for the position of Program Director of the Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Program. The Program Director will provide academic, administrative, and strategic leadership for the Program and will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation, continuous development, and quality enhancement of the Program in accordance with the University s academic regulations, strategic priorities, and applicable national and international quality assurance and accreditation standards. The successful candidate will lead the academic team, coordinate teaching and learning activities, oversee curriculum implementation and development, monitor student progress and academic performance, support research and innovation activities, and strengthen collaboration with industry, research institutions, and national and international academic partners. The Program Director will work closely with the Dean, Faculty administration, Quality Assurance Unit, academic departments, and relevant University committees to ensure the effective operation and continuous improvement of the Program.</p><p>2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES</p><p>A. Academic and Program Leadership</p><p>Provide academic and strategic leadership for the Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Program and ensure effective implementation of its curriculum and academic regulations. Coordinate course planning, teaching assignments, academic advising, and the quality of teaching and learning. Lead curriculum review and continuous improvement in response to academic, scientific, technological, and labor-market developments. Ensure alignment of Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs), teaching strategies, and assessment methods. Promote interdisciplinary teaching, research, and the development of new courses, tracks, laboratories, and academic activities.</p><p>B. Faculty and Academic Staff Management</p><p>Coordinate the academic work, teaching responsibilities, and professional development of faculty members, teaching assistants, and other Program staff. Identify staffing needs and contribute to recruitment, evaluation, and academic development processes. Promote effective communication, collaboration, and teamwork among Program staff and relevant University units.</p><p>C. Student Affairs and Academic Advising</p><p>Oversee academic advising, student support, enrollment, progression, retention, and graduation. Address academic difficulties and ensure appropriate student support and follow-up. Support student participation in research, internships, training, scientific activities, and other academic opportunities. Monitor student feedback and ensure appropriate actions are taken to enhance the student experience.</p><p>D. Quality Assurance and Accreditation</p><p>Lead the Program s quality assurance and continuous improvement activities. Ensure the preparation and maintenance of Program and course files, annual reports, assessment records, and other required documentation. Monitor Program Learning Outcomes and performance indicators and use assessment results for continuous improvement. Coordinate accreditation and external review processes, including preparation of the Program Self-Study and follow-up on review recommendations. Ensure compliance with University regulations and applicable national quality assurance and accreditation standards.</p><p>E. Curriculum Development and Continuous Improvement</p><p>Lead periodic curriculum review in consultation with faculty, students, alumni, employers, and other stakeholders. Ensure that the curriculum reflects current developments in nanoscience and nanotechnology and meets academic and labor-market needs. Oversee curriculum mapping, course sequencing, prerequisites, credit requirements, and graduation requirements. Recommend curriculum modifications and promote research-based learning, modern technologies, laboratory applications, and computational tools.</p><p>F. Research, Innovation, and Industry Engagement</p><p>Promote research, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration in nanoscience and nanotechnology. Support faculty and student research, national and international collaborations, and competitive research funding. Develop partnerships with industry, research centers, universities, and professional organizations. Promote internships, industrial training, technology transfer, entrepreneurship, intellectual property, and commercialization of research outcomes.</p><p><br></p><p>3. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE</p><p>Education: Ph.D. in Nanoscience, Nanotechnology, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.</p><p>Academic Rank: Must currently hold the rank of Full Professor (or satisfy institutional standards for promotion to Full Professor).</p><p>Research Record: Proven track record of high-impact publications, a strong h-index, and a history of securing major competitive research grants.</p><p>Teaching Record: Extensive experience teaching higher-education courses in Nanoscience/Nanotechnology with high student evaluation ratings.</p><p>Supervision: Successful track record of supervising Ph.D. candidates to completion.</p><p>Experience: Preference may be given to candidates with:</p><ul><li>Previous experience in managing an academic program.</li><li>Experience with national or international academic accreditation and quality assurance.</li><li>International academic or research experience.</li><li>Strong national and international research collaborations.</li><li>Experience in establishing industry-academic partnerships.</li><li>Experience in developing new academic programs or curricula.</li><li>Experience in research funding and project management.</li><li>Experience in student employability, internships, and industry engagement.</li><li>Evidence of innovation, patents, technology transfer, or commercialization activities.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p><br></p>
