Position: Senior Laboratory Teaching Engineer - Mechanical Engineering Department<br>Reports to: Technical Operations Manager and Industrial Liaison<br>Purpose: The job holder is responsible for operating and maintaining the assigned labs, providing the necessary support for faculty, researchers, teaching assistants, graduate or undergraduate students and external customers, including supervising the installation, operation and maintenance of lab equipment , assisting in procurement vendors including market surveys and the collection of price quotations, and spare parts, training equipment users, assuring equipment operation, setting up the equipment operation schedule, organizing work flow, ensuring lab safety, and representing the department of mechanical engineering in University and school events. Job Purpose<br> JOB DESCRIPTION <br>To handle drafting project shop drawings, as well as coordinate drawings between different disciplines and assist site engineers clarifying and resolving any technical problem that could arise during the construction caused by designs.<br>Roles & Responsibilities<br> Participate in implementing technical office policies and procedures. Study the project contract documents (time schedule, project design drawings, BOQ, etc.). Prepare shop and coordination drawings (or composite drawing) based on project’s design drawings in accurate with quality standard. Coordinate with other trades to solve any conflict between various Engineering disciplines. Update the shop drawing log before sending the shop drawing to consultant for approvals. Study and prepare requests for information (RFIs) for all missing, unclear, conflicting or other technical matters that may arise during construction. Review sub-contractors’ shop drawings as well as outsourced shop drawings and coordinate their approval process with the project consultant. Coordinate with Surveying Engineer to provide him all the information about land coordinates and any site measurement required. Participate in solving/reporting any unexpected technical difficulties, and other problems that may arise during construction to the Technical Office Manager for discussion and proper solve. To be the primary technical and commercial interface between Immensa and its static equipment and fabrication supply base, translating design intent into a manufacturable, code-compliant and quality-assured production route.<br>Main Responsibilities Read, interpret and validate 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings — including GD&T, datums, tolerances, weld symbols and joint details, corrosion allowance, material and NDT callouts — for pressure-retaining and fabricated static equipment. Select and justify the optimum manufacturing route (plate cutting and rolling, forming and pressing, shell and head fabrication, nozzle and flange preparation, tube-to-tubesheet welding and expansion, cladding and weld overlay, machining of sealing faces, post-weld heat treatment) and material of construction for the service conditions. Address fabrication specifics — weld procedure and welder qualification (WPS/PQR/WPQ), welding sequence and distortion control, fit-up and alignment tolerances, out-of-roundness, PWHT cycles and pressure-test requirements.
