The EBRD Egypt Energy Team seek a professional with the experience, capability and enthusiasm to become part of our growing success story in Egypt.</p><br> <p>The Associate Banker contributes to all phases of the project cycle, including project origination, structuring, negotiations, execution, and implementation and monitoring. The Associate Banker will take responsibility for those tasks assigned to him/her by the operation leader, which may include undertaking comprehensive due diligence, including financial, market, integrity and EBRD policy compliance, as well as effective post-signing implementation and monitoring. The Associate Banker is also expected to be part of legal analysis and documentation and carries out these tasks as part of a project team under the guidance of an operation leader or under the supervision/guidance of more senior bankers or the team Director.</p><br> <p>The Associate Banker role may also include elements of business/pipeline development, client management and policy dialogue. In such cases, the AB will be expected to contribute to all aspects of project development including project origination, structuring, execution followed by implementation and monitoring.</p><br> <p>The project life-cycle involves several stages from origination to signing, followed by implementation and monitoring until full completion and repayment or exit. All the stages involve different tasks such as business marketing, project due diligence analysis, structuring and approval, negotiation and signing of project agreements, disbursement and monitoring.</p><br> <p>The role of the Associate Banker is to contribute, as a project team member, to the structuring, implementation and monitoring of debt and equity transactions, and their effective implementation and monitoring in line with the Bank’s operational objectives.</p><br> <p>Under the guidance of the operation leader and/or more senior bankers, the Associate Banker performs those tasks assigned to him/her. The Associate Banker may also co-ordinate the work of more junior team members and interacts with internal and external counterparts as required.</p><br> <p><strong>Accountabilities & Responsibilities</strong></p><br> <p>Under the guidance of the operation leader or a more senior banker:</p><br> <p><strong>Structuring and Execution</strong></p><br> <ul> <li>Work as a project team member on transactions, contributing to all aspects of project structuring and execution, including working with client counterparts, consultants and other parties to progress the project;</li> <li>Be the primary driver of the scope and quality of project due diligence, including financial, market, integrity and EBRD policy compliance;</li> <li>Prepare internal project documentation, including approval project memoranda, financial models, draft term sheets, presentations, etc. as and when required;</li> <li>Take responsibility, as Technical Cooperation (TC) operation leader, to design and process technical co-operation assistance, ensuring that TC processing and approval fits with the approval schedule of any related investment project or the related policy dialogue initiative;</li> <li>Ensure that all tasks within his/her responsibility areas are completed within the specified time frames to a high standard and in line with the policies, procedures and objectives of the Bank.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Portfolio Monitoring, Value Creation and Reporting</strong></p><br> <ul> <li>Take responsibility for the implementation and monitoring of all projects to which the Associate Banker is assigned, including compliance with project agreements and Bank procedures related to disbursement; monitoring of progress of the project implementation and financial performance of the client; assessing evolving risk factors and monitoring and assessing covenant compliance, in the case of more senior Associate’s they may become the OL for the project once it is in implementation and/or monitoring phase;</li> <li>Prepare timely and comprehensive monitoring reports and include recommendations for corrective actions where required and ensure these proposed corrective actions and recommendations are brought to the attention of more senior team members;</li> <li>As TC operation leader, ensure effective implementation and monitoring of TC assignments to ensure their compliance with donor reporting requirements, operational objectives and that all reports are of a high quality;</li> <li>As a project team member, perform all such tasks as may be assigned by the operation leader and provide constructive advice, guidance and supervision to more junior members of the project team.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Business Development</strong></p><br> <ul> <li>Assist, as required, with marketing and business development efforts.</li> </ul> <p>The responsibilities of the Associate Banker are designed to allow for the development of transaction expertise and expansion of responsibilities, leading to assuming the role of an operation leader on standard, non-complex transactions. In such cases, the Associate Banker’s accountabilities and responsibilities would be increased to undertake a role of an operation leader under the supervision/guidance of more senior bankers or the Team Director.</p><br> <p><strong>Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Knowledge:</strong></p><br> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree. Specifically, the SPIF advisor will work across program units to identify and diversify funding sources from private sector and philanthropic institutions. Strengthen UNFPA’s influence in regional intergovernmental bodies, networks, and forums to advance ICPD commitments and social norm change as key partners. Expand UNFPA’s engagement with governments, parliaments, international financial institutions, especially Islamic financing, private sector actors, and civil society. Develop a coalition of partners/donors in support of sectoral responses to the four UNFPA Strategic Plan outcome areas. Strategic Advice and Coordination Provide high-level advice to the Regional SMT on partnership trends, risks, and opportunities, including funding foresight mapping on a regular and updated basis regarding trends, allocations and upcoming opportunities/risks for partnerships; both for country level and regional level engagements. Act as regional liaison with Headquarters divisions (e.g., Division for Communications and Strategic Partnerships, Division for External Relations), ensuring coherence between global and regional strategies. Coordinate regional contributions to global partnership and financing dialogues informed by regular country and regional updates from the field. Provide technical guidance and on-demand support to CO focal points on partnerships, resource mobilization, and financing especially during the CPD process and during major transitional periods such as the rollout of a new SP. Build capacity of CO staff through training, mentoring, regional workshops, and communities of practice. Ensure COs are equipped with tools and approaches for donor diversification and innovative financing. Donor Diversification and Innovative Financing Lead the design and execution of regional strategies for donor diversification, targeting non-traditional donors, private philanthropy, IFIs, and emerging economies. Identify and pursue innovative financing opportunities, including blended finance, impact investment, and climate or demographic dividend financing. Forge partnerships with regional development banks, sovereign wealth funds, and other financial actors to leverage new resources; special emphasis will be given to leveraging new partnerships in the GCC as part of the global strategy. Support Country Offices in structuring and scaling innovative financing initiatives and diversifying their donor base. Resource Mobilization and Coalition-Building Enhance the region’s ability to mobilize resources, build multi-stakeholder coalitions, and amplify programmatic impact under one coordinated structure. Provide technical support and capacity-building to Country Offices on resource mobilization, donor engagement, and strategic advocacy. Oversee donor reporting and communications, ensuring high-quality, streamlined, and persuasive advocacy and visibility products. Track financing trends and advise senior leadership on emerging opportunities to strengthen UNFPA’s positioning. Knowledge Management and Capacity Development Capture, package, and disseminate lessons learned and best practices on partnerships, financing, and advocacy across the region. Develop guidance, tools, and training materials for Country Offices on engaging governments, parliaments, private sector, and innovative financing actors. Mentor and strengthen the capacity of partnerships and communications staff across the region. Innovation and Digital Engagement Deploy digital platforms and solutions, and data-driven tools to expand financing opportunities. Identify innovative financing mechanisms relevant to demographic dividend, SRHR, and gender equality. The Shift Manager acts as the primary operational point of responsibility during the assigned shift within the defined level of authority.<br><br>Key Responsibilities<br><br>Shift Operations and Production Control<br><br>Plan, coordinate, and supervise all production activities during the assigned shift in accordance with the approved production schedule. Ensure achievement of shift targets relating to output, quality, yield, productivity, cost, and on-time completion. Allocate employees, equipment, materials, and other resources effectively across production lines. Monitor production progress throughout the shift and take timely action to address deviations, bottlenecks, or operational disruptions. Ensure that production processes are conducted in accordance with approved work instructions, formulations, specifications, and standard operating procedures. Coordinate product changeovers, line start-ups, shutdowns, cleaning activities, and other shift-related operational requirements. Ensure the proper use of raw materials, packaging materials, production equipment, and utilities. Act as the primary operational decision-maker during the shift within the established authority and escalation framework. Health, Safety, and Environment<br><br>Demonstrate visible safety leadership and ensure full compliance with Sika HSE requirements and applicable legal regulations. Conduct shift safety briefings and ensure that employees understand the relevant hazards, controls, and safe working procedures. Ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment and adherence to site safety rules. Stop any unsafe activity immediately and ensure that appropriate corrective action is taken before work resumes. Identify, report, and escalate unsafe conditions, near misses, environmental concerns, and incidents. Support incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Ensure that emergency procedures are understood and followed by all shift employees. Maintain safe and environmentally responsible operations, including proper waste handling and spill prevention. Quality Management<br><br>Ensure that all products manufactured during the shift comply with approved Sika specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. Verify that required in-process checks, sampling, testing, and production documentation are completed correctly. Coordinate with the Quality team regarding nonconforming products, process deviations, and quality concerns. Stop or hold production when quality requirements are not met, in accordance with the approved escalation and authorization process. Support investigations into quality deviations and customer complaints and ensure implementation of agreed corrective actions. Ensure that nonconforming materials and products are properly identified, segregated, and controlled. Performance Monitoring and Reporting<br><br>Monitor and report shift performance against established KPIs, including:Safety performance Production output Schedule adherence Yield and material consumption Productivity and efficiency Equipment downtime Waste and production losses Product quality and process deviations Investigate performance gaps and implement immediate containment or corrective actions within the assigned authority. Maintain accurate production logs, shift reports, downtime records, material consumption records, and incident reports. Escalate significant safety, quality, maintenance, staffing, or production issues to the relevant manager in a timely manner. Ensure that all data entered into SAP or other production systems is complete, accurate, and submitted on time. Team Leadership and Workforce Management<br><br>Lead, supervise, and support the shift team, including operators, technicians, helpers, and other assigned employees. Assign responsibilities and communicate clear performance expectations at the beginning of each shift. Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, breaks, overtime, workplace conduct, and compliance with company procedures. Ensure appropriate staffing levels and coordinate any urgent staffing requirements with Production Management and HR. Provide on-the-job guidance, coaching, and feedback to shift employees. Identify training and development needs and communicate them to the relevant manager. Support employee performance management and disciplinary processes in coordination with Production Management and HR. Promote teamwork, accountability, respect, and effective communication among shift employees. Equipment and Maintenance Coordination<br><br>Monitor equipment condition and operational reliability throughout the shift. Ensure that operators complete required equipment inspections and basic autonomous maintenance activities. Report breakdowns, abnormalities, and equipment risks to the Maintenance team without delay. Coordinate with Maintenance to prioritize interventions and minimize production downtime. Ensure that equipment is safely isolated and released for maintenance in accordance with applicable procedures. Verify that equipment is safe and operationally ready before production resumes. Record equipment downtime, causes, actions taken, and operational impact accurately. Shift Handover and Communication<br><br>Conduct structured shift-start briefings covering production priorities, safety requirements, quality concerns, staffing, and equipment status. Complete a clear and comprehensive handover to the incoming Shift Manager or Supervisor. Ensure that handovers include production status, pending orders, equipment conditions, quality issues, safety concerns, staffing matters, and required follow-up actions. Communicate relevant shift information to Production Management and other supporting departments. Attend operational meetings and contribute accurate information regarding shift performance and challenges. Workplace Organization and Continuous Improvement<br><br>Ensure that production and supporting areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and organized condition. Lead implementation and sustainability of 5S standards within the assigned shift and production areas. Ensure compliance with approved standard operating procedures and visual management requirements. Identify and propose opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, workflow, resource utilization, and cost efficiency. Participate in continuous improvement activities, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving initiatives. Encourage shift employees to report problems and contribute practical improvement ideas. Compliance and Audit Readiness<br><br>Ensure compliance with Sika policies, plant procedures, management systems, and applicable legal requirements during the shift. Maintain accurate and traceable shift documentation and operational records. Support internal, external, customer, certification, and regulatory audits. Ensure timely closure of assigned corrective actions and audit findings. Immediately escalate any significant noncompliance or operational risk through the appropriate management channels. A relevant technical diploma may be considered where supported by substantial and directly relevant manufacturing experience. Typically, 3–7 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment. At least 1–2 years of experience leading a production shift, line, or operational team. Experience in chemicals, construction materials, cementitious products, admixtures, coatings, or a comparable process-manufacturing industry is preferred. Demonstrated ability to achieve production, quality, and delivery targets in a demanding manufacturing environment. Practical experience coordinating with Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, and HSE functions. Experience working in a structured manufacturing environment with documented procedures and performance indicators. Technical Knowledge<br><br>Good understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and shop-floor operations. Working knowledge of production quality controls and nonconforming-product management. Good awareness of occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements in a manufacturing environment. Basic understanding of equipment operation, breakdown identification, and maintenance coordination. Ability to monitor and interpret production KPIs, including output, efficiency, yield, waste, and downtime. Working knowledge of ERP or production management systems, preferably SAP or an equivalent system. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, root-cause analysis, or other continuous improvement methods is preferred. Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements is an advantage.
