Role Description The Anesthesia resident role is a full-time, on-site training position based in Al Manşūrah. Residents provide perioperative anesthesia care under supervision, including preoperative assessment, intraoperative management, and postoperative pain control for a variety of surgical specialties. Day-to-day responsibilities include participating in operating room lists, emergency anesthesia coverage, and procedures such as airway management, vascular access, and regional blocks. The role involves regular on-call duties, documentation of clinical activities, and adherence to patient safety and infection control protocols. Residents also engage in academic activities such as case discussions, journal clubs, teaching sessions, and preparation for fellowship examinations, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care. Qualifications Completed medical degree (MBBCh or equivalent) from a recognized institution and eligibility for residency training in Egypt. Valid license or registration to practice medicine in Egypt and good standing with relevant regulatory authorities. Strong clinical foundation in internal medicine, surgery, and emergency care, with interest in anesthesia and critical care. Demonstrated skills in patient assessment, clinical decision-making, and safe procedural practice under supervision. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments, including operating rooms, recovery areas, and intensive care units. Clear, professional communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Commitment to ethical practice, patient-centered care, and adherence to institutional policies and guidelines. Willingness to participate in night shifts, on-call schedules, and structured educational activities, including exams and evaluations. Interest in research, audit, or quality improvement projects related to anesthesia and perioperative medicine is an advantage. Proficiency in basic computer skills and ability to use electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems.

<p>Tasks to be performed under this contract</p><ol><li>Conduct Migration Health Assessment activities targeting refugees and Immigrants for resettlement/ Immigration to Canada and Australia.</li><li>Provide medical assistance for migrant s beneficiaries accessing IOM medical services.</li><li>Assist in Coordination medical referrals with relevant hospitals and medical centers and closely follow up on the progress of the treatment/their medical condition of all cases.</li><li>Provide support for medical services for migrants in governmental health/medical facilities whenever requested.</li><li>Identify and advocate special health needs for individuals/groups and liaise with relevant health actors/partners to facilitate the service provisions.</li><li>Contribute to strengthening and monitoring mechanisms for ensuring quality health services and identification of beneficiaries potential protection concerns for all vulnerable categories (children, pregnant and lactating women, beneficiaries with disabilities and elderly patients.</li><li>Undertake health needs assessments of the migrant population with attention to health determinants to assure provisions to meet those needs; maintain an on-ongoing monitoring system to assure adequacy of such service provisions, including emergency response.</li><li>Highlight and ensure presentation of psychosocial needs, including protection issues to Migrant Assistance Service caseworkers for further follow up, in line with Standard Operating Procedures.</li><li>Monitor the completion of pre-departure medical checks for fitness to travel for migrants who are willing to return home voluntarily and assist in coordination of all necessary medical procedures related to VHR (Voluntary Humanitarian Return) inclusive provision of Medical escort for cases requiring medical assistance during travel.</li><li>Conduct health promotion activities for migrants and host communities based on the most common health elements affecting the migrants and address public health measures needed to maintain a healthy environment, in the form of outreach clinics and health events.</li><li>Liaise with Community leaders, Community Health and Outreach Worker networks in migrant dense communities to understand and remain up to date on migrant needs and health concerns.</li><li>Assist in Coordination of the proper storage, maintenance and procurement of basic medical equipment and supplies for the IOM Migration Health Unit including Emergency Medical Kits, Medical Escorts Kits, and other medical items.</li><li>Regularly review services from a gender perspective and make recommendations to improve gender mainstreaming and gender sensitive services for all.</li><li>Assist Medical team in conducting of Medical convoys and basic medical services provided in field level</li><li>Assist CMHO and contribute during provision of session within IBG particularly praqctical part of life saving activities</li><li>Write, consolidate, and submit individual case reports, monthly progress reports on key project activities and statistical reports whenever requested.</li><li>Represent IOM in health sector meeting when required.</li><li>Perform such other duties as may be assigned by CMHO.</li><li>Can be called to intervene in medical emergencies throughout the Day.</li><li>Will have to respond to emergency calls throughout the Day</li></ol><p>The staff (s) must maintain the highest ethical standards for research and adhere to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Data Protection Principles (IN/138) and maintain confidentiality.</p><p>Performance indicators for the evaluation of results</p><ul><li>Migration health assessments conducted in accordance with IOM and destination-country requirements.</li><li>Timely and accurate completion of medical reports, referrals, and case documentation.</li><li>Effective provision of medical assistance and follow-up of referred cases.</li><li>Timely response to emergency medical cases and support to field operations.</li><li>Submission of monthly narrative and statistical reports within agreed timelines.</li><li>Compliance with IOM medical protocols, data protection requirements, and ethical standards.</li></ul><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p>Required Qualifications and Experience</p><p>Education University Degree in Medicine from an accredited institution with minimum two years of continuous clinical work experience, Master s degree in general medicine/Emergency Medicine, Gynecology and obstetrics, Anesthesiology, Endocrinology specialists advantage inclusive experience in Emergency Room or Intensive Care Center.</p><p>Experience Proven experience in community outreach and dialogue in addition to practical monitoring and evaluation experience Empanelment for Canada and Australia health authorities is an advantage Work expirience in activities in Entry/Exit point/s of country is an advantage Fully proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Internet, PowerPoint and Email.
