Role Description The Anesthesia resident role is a full-time, on-site training position based in Al Manşūrah. Day-to-day responsibilities include participating in operating room lists, emergency anesthesia coverage, and procedures such as airway management, vascular access, and regional blocks. The role involves regular on-call duties, documentation of clinical activities, and adherence to patient safety and infection control protocols. Residents also engage in academic activities such as case discussions, journal clubs, teaching sessions, and preparation for fellowship examinations, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care. Qualifications Completed medical degree (MBBCh or equivalent) from a recognized institution and eligibility for residency training in Egypt. Valid license or registration to practice medicine in Egypt and good standing with relevant regulatory authorities. Strong clinical foundation in internal medicine, surgery, and emergency care, with interest in anesthesia and critical care. Demonstrated skills in patient assessment, clinical decision-making, and safe procedural practice under supervision. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments, including operating rooms, recovery areas, and intensive care units. Clear, professional communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Commitment to ethical practice, patient-centered care, and adherence to institutional policies and guidelines. Willingness to participate in night shifts, on-call schedules, and structured educational activities, including exams and evaluations. Interest in research, audit, or quality improvement projects related to anesthesia and perioperative medicine is an advantage. Proficiency in basic computer skills and ability to use electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems.
