Key duties and responsibilities:
Management of freezing and processing lines: direct supervision of the operation and maintenance of quick-freezing lines (IQF), freezing tunnels, vegetable soaking and blanching lines, and sorting and optical sorting equipment (Optical Sorters).
Management of central cooling systems: monitoring and operation of large cooling units (ammonia- or Freon-based) and frozen storage rooms at temperatures of -18°C or lower.
Preventive and emergency maintenance management: developing and implementing preventive maintenance plans (PPM) for all equipment and facilities (boilers, air compressors, water treatment plants, electrical transformers) to reduce downtime.
Food safety and occupational health: ensuring all engineering operations comply with food quality standards (HACCP, BRC, ISO 22000), and ensuring the use of food-grade oils and maintenance materials.
Budgeting and cost management: preparing the annual engineering department budget, managing spare parts, and conserving energy (electricity, water, gas).
Team leadership: managing and developing the engineers and technicians team, assigning tasks, and training them on the latest maintenance and safety techniques.
Qualifications and experience:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electrical).
Experience: 8-10 years of experience in the food industries, including 3-5 years in a leadership role in frozen foods plants or industrial cooling and freezing.
Technical knowledge:
Deep knowledge of Ammonia Refrigeration Systems.
Advanced familiarity with IQF equipment and vegetable processing and packaging lines.
Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and control systems (PLC & SCADA).
Soft skills:
High problem-solving and quick decision-making ability during operational crises.
Strong leadership and effective communication skills; experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
Strategic thinking, project management, and on-site expansion management.
