<h2>Job Purpose</h2><p>The Foundation Stage Co-Teacher supports the Homeroom Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that promotes the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of young learners.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><h3>Teaching and Learning Support</h3><ul><li>Support the Homeroom Teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate learning experiences.</li><li>Assist in implementing inquiry-based and play-based activities aligned with the IB PYP framework.</li><li>Support individual students and small groups during learning activities.</li><li>Reinforce learning objectives and classroom expectations.</li><li>Encourage student participation, independence, and confidence.</li></ul><h3>Student Care and Well-Being</h3><ul><li>Ensure the safety, welfare, and supervision of students at all times.</li><li>Support students' social, emotional, and behavioral development.</li><li>Promote positive behavior and model respectful interactions.</li><li>Assist children with daily routines and self-care skills when needed.</li><li>Foster a warm, caring, and inclusive classroom environment.</li></ul><h3>Classroom Management</h3><ul><li>Support the implementation of classroom routines and procedures.</li><li>Assist in managing student behavior using positive reinforcement strategies.</li><li>Help maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating learning environment.</li><li>Support smooth transitions between activities and learning areas.</li></ul><h3>Classroom Preparation</h3><ul><li>Prepare, organize, and maintain learning materials and classroom resources.</li><li>Assist with classroom displays, learning centers, and student work documentation.</li><li>Support the setup and cleanup of activities and learning spaces.</li></ul><h3>Communication and Collaboration</h3><ul><li>Work collaboratively with the Homeroom Teacher and other staff members.</li><li>Maintain professional and respectful communication with students, colleagues, and parents.</li><li>Attend meetings, training sessions, and school events as required.</li><li>Support school initiatives and extracurricular activities when needed.</li></ul><h3>IB and Professional Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Promote the IB Learner Profile attributes and Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills.</li><li>Support student agency, inquiry, and reflection.</li><li>Demonstrate commitment to the school's mission, vision, and values.</li><li>Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.</li></ul>
