<h4>Responsibilities</h4>
<strong>Cost monitoring and analysis:</strong><br>
<li>Monitor and analyze the hotel's expenses across all departments to ensure that costs are aligned with budget targets.</li>
<li>Review daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports to identify discrepancies, cost variances, or trends that may impact the hotel's financial performance.</li>
<li>Identify areas where costs can be reduced or controlled without compromising quality or guest satisfaction.</li>
<li>Analyze purchasing data, inventory levels, and consumption patterns to track cost-effective practices.</li>
<strong>Budget preparation and management:</strong><br>
<li>Assist in the preparation of annual operating budgets and cost control forecasts in collaboration with department heads.</li>
<li>Ensure that departmental expenses adhere to the established budget and make recommendations for adjustments as needed.</li>
<li>Continuously track actual expenditures versus budgeted amounts and prepare reports to highlight any variances.</li>
<strong>Inventory and stock control:</strong><br>
<li>Oversee inventory management for key hotel areas, such as food and beverage, housekeeping, and maintenance.</li>
<li>Ensure proper stock rotation and control to minimize waste and spoilage.</li>
<li>Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile stock levels with system data.</li>
<li>Monitor the consumption of supplies, and review inventory purchasing practices to reduce unnecessary purchases.</li>
<strong>Procurement support:</strong><br>
<li>Work closely with the purchasing department to ensure that purchases are made in line with budget and cost control guidelines.</li>
<li>Review and approve purchase orders to ensure that pricing is competitive and within budgetary limits.</li>
<li>Help negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices and deals for the hotel’s supplies and services.</li>
<strong>Cost reporting and documentation:</strong><br>
<li>Prepare detailed cost control reports, including analysis of labor, food, beverage, and operational costs.</li>
<li>Present cost control reports and findings to senior management, highlighting key areas of concern and recommending solutions for cost optimization.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate records of all cost control activities, including inventory counts, purchase orders, and variance reports.</li>
<strong>Financial auditing and compliance:</strong><br>
<li>Conduct internal audits to ensure that all departments comply with cost control policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Identify areas of inefficiency or non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.</li>
<li>Ensure all purchases and transactions are properly documented and aligned with internal controls and accounting practices.</li>
<strong>Staff training and support:</strong><br>
<li>Provide guidance and training to department heads and staff on cost control practices and financial policies.</li>
<li>Work with departments to promote a culture of cost awareness and efficiency across all hotel operations.</li>
<li>Ensure that department managers understand and implement cost control measures effectively.</li>
<strong>Waste reduction and efficiency improvement:</strong><br>
<li>Identify areas where waste reduction efforts can be implemented in food, beverage, and operational processes.</li>
<li>Suggest improvements for energy, water, and resource efficiency, helping the hotel reduce operating costs.</li>
<li>Collaborate with the sustainability team to ensure environmental best practices are incorporated into cost control strategies.</li>
<strong>Collaboration with department heads:</strong><br>
<li>Work closely with the department heads (e.g., food and beverage, housekeeping, maintenance) to monitor and manage their respective cost centers.</li>
<li>Provide support and analysis to help department heads make informed decisions about purchasing, staffing, and operational practices.</li>
<li>Ensure effective communication with other departments regarding cost control goals, policies, and procedures.</li>
<strong>Additional responsibilities:</strong><br>
<li>Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by management to support the effective operation of the department and the broader goals of the property.</li>
<h4>Qualifications</h4>
<strong>Experience / certificates / education</strong><br>
<li>Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in cost control, accounting, or finance, preferably within the hospitality industry.</li>
<li>Education: A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field. Certification in Cost Control or similar financial management qualifications is a plus.</li>
<strong>Skills & attributes:</strong><br>
<li>Proficiency with financial software and systems (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Oracle, SAP, hotel management systems).</li>

<p>Monitors all duty schedules in the kitchen operation.</p>
<p>Conducts bi-monthly a presentation of 12 new novelties, disk, presentation, amenities, etc. to stay in line with operational trends.</p>
<p>Within kitchen hygiene rules, chefs who are working in the kitchen should have short and well-cared hair; it is not allowed that men have a moustache or beard.</p>
<p>Reviews and corrects the appearance (condition of uniforms) and grooming of all assigned staff.</p>
<p>Evaluates the performance of the assigned team and initiates promotions.</p>
<p>Responsible for the timely kitchen preparations for all meal services in the outlets and banquet activities in line with the stipulated opening hours.</p>
<p>Frequently tours through all kitchens, stores, and other food production facilities ensuring the highest possible hygiene and maintenance standards.</p>
<p>Develops food promotions and initiates the appearance of guest chefs if the situation requires.</p>
<p>Frequently tours the dining outlets and related areas to assure the well-being of all guests by maintaining close friendly contact.</p>
<p>Handles guest complaints directly if the situation requires.</p>
<p>Drives together with the food & beverage manager all extracurricular events in the outlets as per the annual promotions calendar.</p>
<p>Controls the food cost by reviewing and approving all store requisitions and direct purchases and minimizes wastage.</p>
<p>Ensures that the immediate reliever is well informed about all relevant operational issues.</p>
<p>Directs the development of future chefs.</p>
<p>Monitors all food par stocks.</p>
<p>Drives with the food & beverage manager all menu changes and documents all dishes and issues presentation information to all parties concerned.</p>

The candidate will have a strong background in Active Directory architecture and engineering, with the ability to design, configure and troubleshoot Active Directory. <h4>Overview of the role</h4>
<p>The Duty Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring a high standard of customer service, efficient stock management, and compliance with company procedures and legal requirements. In this role, the jobholder will lead and motivate the department, manage store openings and closings, and handle cash counting, particularly in larger stores. The jobholder will also collaborate with the Operations Team Lead (when applicable) to review key performance reports and take action to optimize sales and operational efficiency.</p>

<p><strong>Customer service excellence</strong><br>
Ensure all team members deliver exceptional customer service and create a positive shopping experience for every customer.<br>
Actively engage with customers on the sales floor to provide assistance, handle queries, and resolve any issues promptly.<br>
Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in customer interactions, upselling, and product recommendations.</p>
<p><strong>Stock management</strong><br>
Oversee the efficient management of stock, ensuring accurate stock levels, timely replenishment, and well-organized inventory.<br>
Manage inventory transfers, ensuring that stock is moved and tracked appropriately across the store.<br>
Monitor and implement the replenishment app, ensuring that stock is replenished in a timely manner to maintain availability on the sales floor.<br>
Regularly conduct gap scanning and cyclic counts to ensure accuracy in stock levels, minimize loss, and optimize inventory turnover.</p>
<p><strong>Compliance and standards</strong><br>
Implement and uphold the company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operational standards across all customer touchpoints.<br>
Ensure the department is compliant with all trading safety, legal, and health and safety regulations to create a safe and welcoming environment for both customers and staff.<br>
Regularly review and communicate SOPs to the team, ensuring all policies are consistently followed and best practices are adhered to.</p>
<p><strong>Sales and profitability</strong><br>
Work with the store leadership team to set and achieve sales targets, continually driving the department’s performance.<br>
Analyse sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, and develop action plans to maximize sales and profitability.<br>
Optimize staffing levels based on sales floor traffic and customer demand to ensure excellent service without compromising on operational efficiency.</p>
<p><strong>Visual merchandising collaboration</strong><br>
Conduct weekly walks with the VM team to review store displays, merchandising strategies, and product placement.<br>
Offer input on commercial decisions and provide feedback on how merchandising can better support sales objectives.</p>

<p>Assist the Sous Chef in the full operation of all kitchen units.</p>
<p>Responsible for the cost, quality, hygiene, taste, and presentation of all types of food produced in or purchased by the facility and the customer satisfaction related to these.</p>
<p>Within kitchen hygiene rules, chefs working in the kitchen should have short and well-cared-for hair; it is not allowed for men to have a moustache or beard.</p>
