Job Purpose The Operation Shift In-Charge will be responsible for leading shift operations within a large-scale Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) facility, covering project execution, pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up and subsequent plant operation.<br>The position will ensure safe, stable and efficient operation of the DRI process while coordinating control room and field activities, troubleshooting process abnormalities and maintaining production, quality, energy-consumption and safety targets.<br>The role requires strong hands-on knowledge of HYL/Energiron or Midrex DRI technology, combined with proven supervisory experience in large continuous-process plants.<br>Key Responsibilities<br>Lead and coordinate all DRI plant activities during the assigned shift. Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, delivery, and reliability. Evaluate quotations (RFQs) and negotiate favorable commercial terms, pricing, and service level agreements. Prepare, issue, and track Purchase Orders (POs) using the ERP system (Odoo). Support cost-saving initiatives and identify alternative sourcing opportunities. Inventory Management:Monitor and optimize inventory levels to prevent both stockouts and excess inventory. Coordinate with the Warehouse and Production teams to manage safety stock, cycle counts, and stock rotation. Track inventory accuracy, manage obsolete or slow-moving stock, and implement strategies to minimize waste. Logistics Management:Manage inbound and outbound logistics, including shipping, transportation, and local delivery. Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and shipping agents to ensure timely customs clearance and delivery of imported goods. Monitor transit times, shipping costs, and logistics performance to optimize delivery routes and expenses. Systems & Collaboration:Manage all supply chain, inventory, and logistics transactions through Odoo ERP. Maintain procurement and logistics documentation, including POs, shipping documents, customs papers, GRNs, invoices, and contracts. Collaborate closely with Finance for invoice matching, payment approvals, and budget compliance. Work cross-functionally with Quality, Production, and Warehouse departments to streamline operations. Generate regular supply chain performance reports (KPIs, freight costs, lead times, and inventory turnover).<br><br>Qualifications<br>Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPIM, CLTD) are a strong plus.10+ years of experience in supply chain management, purchasing, or logistics. Experience in Manufacturing, FMCG, Retail, or Trading industries is highly preferred. Proven experience in inventory control, demand planning, and shipping/customs clearance procedures. Strong negotiation, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
