<p><h4>About the job</h4>
<p>We are seeking an experienced section manager protection (secondary engineer) to lead our protection engineering team within the transmission & distribution (T&D) division. The successful candidate will oversee the design, review, and delivery of protection and control systems for substation projects while ensuring technical excellence, efficient resource management, and compliance with international standards.</p>
<h4>Key responsibilities / deliverables</h4>
<ul>
<li>Lead and manage the protection engineering section across multiple projects.</li>
<li>Oversee the design and review of protection and control systems for HV/EHV substations.</li>
<li>Review and approve engineering deliverables, protection philosophies, relay settings, and technical documentation.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and applicable international standards (IEC, IEEE, SEC, SASO).</li>
<li>Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, vendors, and contractors.</li>
<li>Support project execution during design, installation, testing, and commissioning phases.</li>
<li>Manage section resources, monitor project progress, and ensure timely delivery.</li>
<li>Mentor and develop engineering team members while promoting engineering best practices.</li>
<li>Support technical proposals, bid evaluations, and business development activities.</li>
</ul>
<h4>Qualifications and experience</h4>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (power systems or high voltage preferred).</li>
<li>Minimum 15 years of experience in transmission & distribution projects, with strong expertise in protection and control engineering.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of protection systems, relay coordination, substation secondary design, and power system studies.</li>
<li>Experience delivering HV/EHV substation projects.</li>
</ul>
<h4>Language proficiency requirements</h4>
<p>Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required.</p>
<h4>Knowledge and functional competencies</h4>
<ul>
<li>Strong knowledge of protection and control systems, IEC 61850, and international standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC).</li>
<li>Proficiency in engineering software such as ETAP, DIgSILENT, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.</li>
<li>Excellent leadership, planning, and resource management skills.</li>
<li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.</li>
<li>Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality engineering solutions within schedule.</li>
