Company Description El Marakby Steel, established in 2006 in 6th of October City, is a key player in Egypt’s steel industry, focused on quality and safe operations. The company operates a rolling mill plant over 16,000 m², producing more than 250,000 tons of steel rebars annually in sizes from 10mm to 32mm, following British and American standards. A modern melt shop, constructed by SMS Group, is designed to produce 350,000 tons of billets and has been in operation since June 2016. As part of El Marakby Group, which includes four established companies, El Marakby Steel is committed to international standards, sustainable technology, and continuous operational upgrades led by a qualified team to strengthen its presence in the Egyptian market. <br>Job Responsibilities Follow up on regular mechanical inspections to identify required preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize equipment breakdowns and production downtime. Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of mechanical failures and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Coordinate the availability of spare parts and materials required for maintenance and breakdown repairs. Follow up on the receipt and inspection of purchased and workshop-manufactured spare parts to ensure compliance with required specifications. Monitor spare parts purchase requests, stock levels, and consumption to ensure availability and control operating costs. Supervise equipment handover after overhauls and ensure equipment readiness for operation. Execute scheduled maintenance and repair activities according to mechanical maintenance procedures and guidelines. Follow up on daily maintenance reports and departmental inspection plans. Prepare daily shift reports and support training plans for maintenance team members based on performance analysis.<br>Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering.2–4 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance. Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement unit handover plans aligned with overall project delivery schedules. Verify completion of site construction activities prior to handover to ensure full technical and operational readiness. Lead snagging and de-snagging inspections, coordinating directly with contractors, consultants, and QC teams to clear all defect lists. Review technical documentation, ensuring all testing & commissioning (T&C) reports, statutory approvals, utility connections, operation manuals, and warranties are completed prior to handover. Lead the Site Task Force team responsible for final unit inspections, key handovers, and customer walkthroughs. Coordinate directly with Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Customer Service, and FM teams to align delivery timelines and resolve operational bottlenecks. Supervise site coordinators and junior staff, allocating daily inspection workloads and monitoring defect rectification productivity. Conduct daily site follow-ups with contractors to enforce timely closure of outstanding snags and technical issues. Supervise customer handover appointments, guiding clients through technical unit orientations, facility operations, and community guidelines. Address and resolve technical customer inquiries/concerns on-site, managing minor disputes and coordinating immediate corrective actions. Escalate critical technical or contractual risks to senior management when necessary. Maintain detailed handover records, tracking pending snags, unit acceptance forms, key handovers, and defect closure metrics. Enforce strict adherence to company handover SOPs and quality control standards across all units. Ensure HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards are strictly maintained during customer site visits and contractor rectification work. Support project close-out activities by contributing engineering data and lessons learned to prevent recurring defects in future phases.<br>Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Architectural, or Building Engineering (or related engineering discipline). Experience: 4 years of hands-on experience in real estate, site engineering, quality control, or property handover. Strong knowledge of building finishes, MEP basics, site snagging, and defect rectification workflows. Job Purpose To coordinate the commercial aspects of the prime contract on a company project including invoicing, identification of variation order and claims initiation.
