Job Summary As a Mobile Core Performance Optimization Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing the performance of Mobile Packet Core and IMS networks to ensure the highest levels of service quality, network efficiency, and customer experience. You will work closely with Operations, Planning, Engineering, and Vendor teams to identify performance bottlenecks, optimize network resources, and support capacity planning initiatives. Key Responsibilities Monitor the performance and KPIs of Mobile Core network elements including EPC, 5GC, IMS, PCRF/PCF, CGF, and related platforms. Analyze network performance trends and identify performance degradation or abnormal behavior. Investigate customer experience issues and perform root cause analysis. Optimize Mobile Core parameters to improve network efficiency and service quality. Generate daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports and present optimization recommendations. Work closely with Operations, Planning, and Vendor teams to implement optimization actions. Perform capacity analysis and recommend hardware/software upgrades before congestion occurs. Monitor CPU, Memory, Storage, Throughput, Session Capacity, and Signaling utilization across Core Network nodes. Analyze signaling performance for Diameter, GTP, SIP, HTTP/2, and SCTP protocols. Validate the impact of software upgrades, new features, and network changes on system performance. Develop dashboards and automation scripts for KPI reporting and performance monitoring. Ensure compliance with SLAs and operational KPIs. Participate in major incident investigations and recommend preventive actions. Document optimization activities, network improvements, and technical procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.5-7 years of experience in Mobile Core Performance, Operations, or Optimization. Excellent understanding of LTE EPC, 5G Core, and IMS architecture. Strong Knowledge of Mobile Core nodes such as:MME- SGW- PGW- SMF- AMF- UPF - PCRF - PCF HSS / UDM - IMS Core nodes P- S CSCFStrong knowledge of telecom protocols including:GTP – Diameter- SIP – SCTP - HTTP/2Strong Experience with KPI analysis and performance troubleshooting. Strong Knowledge of QoS, APN configuration, bearer management, and subscriber session handling. Familiarity with OSS Performance Management tools. Experience with SQL and database querying. Basic scripting skills (Python, Bash, or Shell scripting) are preferred. Experience with Linux operating systems. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
