<h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> <span>Valleysoft is an IT services provider delivering enterprise technology solutions, application development, process management, and infrastructure support for clients around the world.<br> Working across the Information Technology and Services sector, the company supports organizations that rely on dependable systems, strong operational discipline, and responsive technical expertise.<br> This role is an opportunity to contribute to the stability, performance, and resilience of business-critical database environments.<br> As a Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA), you will play a central part in keeping core Oracle platforms secure, available, and optimized while working closely with application, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams to support complex client needs.<br> Responsibilities Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle databases across development, test, UAT, and production environments.<br> Perform Oracle database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and ongoing maintenance.<br> Monitor database health, availability, capacity, performance, storage growth, and resource utilization to support reliability and uptime.<br> Perform Oracle performance tuning, including SQL tuning, execution plan analysis, indexing, memory configuration, and database optimization.<br> Manage Oracle RMAN backup and recovery strategies.<br> Design, implement, and maintain Oracle Data Guard environments for high availability and disaster recovery.<br> Support and administer Oracle RAC environments.<br> Troubleshoot database performance, availability, connectivity, and operational issues.<br> Perform database refreshes, migrations, cloning, and environment synchronization.<br> Implement database security controls, including access management, roles, privileges, and auditing.<br> Support database-related incidents, problems, and service requests within agreed SLAs.<br> Collaborate with application developers, infrastructure teams, system administrators, cybersecurity teams, and vendors to resolve technical issues.<br> Support production deployments and database changes in line with change-management procedures.<br> Develop and maintain database administration procedures, technical documentation, and operational runbooks.<br> Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.<br> 3+ years of Oracle database administration experience in enterprise environments.<br> Hands-on experience with Oracle 12c, Oracle 19c, or comparable enterprise Oracle versions, including administration in Linux or Unix environments.<br> Strong experience with Oracle RMAN backup and recovery, Oracle Data Guard, and Oracle RAC.<br> Proficiency with SQL and PL/SQL, along with practical database performance tuning experience.<br> Production support experience in enterprise Oracle environments, including SLA-driven incident and service-request handling, troubleshooting live database issues, root-cause analysis, permanent fixes, and supporting production deployments and database changes through formal change-management procedures.<br> Basic Shell or Bash scripting skills for database administration and automation.<br> Clear communication skills for explaining production incidents, root causes, risks, and technical recommendations to technical stakeholders and management.<br> Experience in banking or other highly regulated environments is a plus.<br></span> </div>
