Job Overview:<br>We are a leading construction and contracting company looking for a highly experienced and visionary Head of Mechanical Technical Office to lead our main technical office. In this strategic role, you will oversee, direct, and manage the mechanical technical operations across all ongoing and upcoming projects. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) works, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering large-scale contracting projects on time and within budget.<br>Key Responsibilities:<br>Leadership & Management: Lead, mentor, and evaluate the head office mechanical technical team and site-based technical offices. Project Oversight: Oversee the review and approval of all mechanical workshop drawings, composite drawings, material submittals, and method statements for all projects. Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality or design intent. Tendering & Estimation: Review mechanical estimation packages, quantity surveying (QS), variations, and claims for major tenders and ongoing contracts. Procurement Support: Collaborate with the procurement department to review technical specifications of materials, equipment, and suppliers’ financial offers. Coordination: Ensure seamless coordination between the mechanical technical office, other engineering disciplines (Civil, Architecture, Electrical), and Project Managers. Client & Consultant Liaison: Attend critical progress meetings with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve complex technical issues and variations.<br>Job Requirements:<br>Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable university. Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in the construction/contracting field, with at least 5 years in a managerial or lead position (Head Office experience is highly preferred). Technical Skills:Profound knowledge of international codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, ASME, SMACNA, IPC, etc.). Expertise in HVAC, Firefighting, Plumbing, and Infrastructure networks. Soft Skills: Strong leadership, strategic thinking, excellent negotiation tactics, and high-level problem-solving capabilities.
