Position Overview
The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing scalable data solutions using Microsoft SQL Server, Python, and Business Intelligence tools. This role focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines, reporting infrastructure, and analytical models that enable accurate, automated, and insight-driven decision-making. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, the BI Developer translates business requirements into technical solutions while ensuring data quality, system performance, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities(May perform additional duties as assigned.)
Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes, stored procedures, database objects, and data pipelines to support reporting and business analytics. Build, enhance, and maintain scalable data solutions across multiple platforms while ensuring data integrity, reliability, and optimal performance. Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver impactful Business Intelligence solutions using Microsoft SQL Server and Power BI. Convert business requirements into technical specifications for data warehouse architecture, reporting solutions, and automation initiatives. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data processes, reporting cycles, and automation workflows to improve operational efficiency and reporting accuracy. Manage and maintain ticketing systems, ensuring timely resolution of data-related requests in accordance with established service level agreements (SLAs). Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing performance trends, identifying optimization opportunities, and participating in PSP/DMAIC activities. Collaborate within Agile teams and cross-functional projects, supporting change management and ensuring seamless data operations. Promote data literacy and Business Intelligence adoption across the organization by sharing knowledge and acting as a trusted partner between business and technical teams. Foster a collaborative work environment by providing guidance, mentorship, and support to team members when required.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing) in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline. Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (2016 or later), including SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT), query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning. Solid understanding of database architecture, relational and NoSQL databases, and cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in database development, reporting, and Business Intelligence solutions using Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel, preferably within a call center, workforce management (WFM), or operations environment. Proven expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, data modeling, and dimensional modeling techniques, including star and snowflake schemas and OLAP concepts. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with Power Apps and Power Automate is an advantage. Hands-on experience using Python for data transformation, automation, and analysis.
Technical Skills
Required
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), and Power BI, including DAX. Strong programming skills in Python for data processing, automation, and reporting. Solid understanding of data modeling principles, dimensional modeling, OLAP concepts, and statistical analysis. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with strong written and spoken English proficiency.
Preferred Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS). Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Google Big Query, and Azure Dev Ops. Basic understanding of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) concepts. Experience with Visual Basic, VBA Macros, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
