Role Summary

The Export Sales Area Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, market penetration, and profitability across assigned international markets. The role manages distributors, key accounts, and regional partners, ensuring achievement of revenue targets, expansion of market share, and execution of export strategy. The position acts as the key commercial interface between the company and international customers, while ensuring alignment with pricing, logistics, compliance, and brand positioning standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Export Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Execute the export sales strategy for assigned regions/markets. 
  • Achieve annual sales and margin targets across export territories. 
  • Identify and prioritize high-potential markets and customer segments. 
  • Develop and implement country-specific go-to-market plans. 

 

2. Market Development & Growth

  • Identify new business opportunities, distributors, and agents. 
  • Expand customer base and increase penetration in existing markets. 
  • Conduct market analysis to understand competition, pricing, and demand trends. 
  • Participate in international trade shows and exhibitions to generate leads. 

 

3. Distributor & Key Account Management

  • Manage relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and strategic accounts. 
  • Set annual targets and ensure performance tracking for each partner. 
  • Support distributors with pricing, product knowledge, and commercial policies. 
  • Evaluate distributor performance and recommend corrective actions when needed. 

 

4. Pricing, Contracts & Negotiation

  • Develop pricing strategies aligned with market conditions and corporate margins. 
  • Negotiate contracts, payment terms, and commercial agreements with customers. 
  • Ensure compliance with company approval matrix for pricing and discounts. 
  • Monitor profitability by market and customer. 

 

5. Forecasting & Sales Planning

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly sales forecasts by market. 
  • Coordinate demand planning with supply chain and production teams. 
  • Ensure alignment between sales pipeline and inventory availability. 
  • Monitor shipment schedules and order fulfillment. 

 

6. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with logistics and supply chain to ensure timely delivery. 
  • Coordinate with finance on credit terms, collections, and risk management. 
  • Collaborate with marketing on product launches and promotional activities. 
  • Support regulatory and documentation requirements for export shipments. 

 

7. Reporting & Performance Management

  • Track and report sales performance by region, product, and customer. 
  • Provide regular market updates and competitor intelligence. 
  • Maintain CRM systems with accurate pipeline and customer data. 

Present monthly performance reviews to senior management.
