Roles & Responsibilities

As a Commercial Manager, the candidate will be leading a team of Cost and Contract professionals to undertake the job responsibilities to be aligned with the business target through the senior management reporting to.

Provide short term / long term cover for open positions on projects throughout the Project.

Interact with Project Director to identify and mitigate potential issues

Update and revise project / program procedures in regard to commercial requirements and compliance with best practices.

Assist in the continuous improvement of contract processes through refining contract formulation activities, systems and procedures.

Claims help project as required to evaluate and recommend claims, including the calculation of losses.

Formulate strategies to resolve Contract and Commercial issues.

Provide advice regarding contract procurement and types of underlying contracts and agreements (as necessary).

Collaborate with colleagues across the project to obtain and communicate business information necessary for Reporting purposes

What Required Skills You'll Bring

A bachelor s degree in a subject related to Commercial Management (Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering required preferred)

A minimum of 10:15 years of relevant post degree work experience

Recent experience in a commercial role, including managing of teams

Good at working on own initiative

Ability to guide staff, critique and challenge objectively and with confidence.

Candidate to be able to demonstrate experience in the Real Estate Sector.

Excellent pre and post contract technical cost and commercial management skills.

Articulate in written and oral communication.

Excellent prioritization and self-management skills and ability to work in a high-pressure environment.

Key Competencies

Software skills required in Auto CAD and Microsoft Office.

Software skills in Cost Estimation and Quantity Surveying software like CostX, Plan Swift or Bluebeam or Candy, would be advantageous.
