The Planning Manager is responsible for leading production planning and scheduling activities across textile manufacturing operations to ensure optimal utilization of resources, on-time delivery, and alignment between sales demand and production capacity. The role plays a critical part in balancing efficiency, inventory levels, and customer commitments while supporting overall operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage short, medium, and long-term production plans for textile operations.
- Translate sales forecasts and confirmed orders into feasible production schedules while considering capacity, manpower, and machine availability.
- Coordinate closely with Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth material flow and production continuity.
- Monitor production progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to meet delivery targets.
- Manage raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory levels to minimize excess stock and shortages.
- Analyze capacity utilization, lead times, and bottlenecks; recommend optimization solutions.
- Establish and track planning KPIs such as OTIF, schedule adherence, inventory turnover, and production efficiency.
- Support S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) processes and management reviews.
- Ensure accurate planning data within ERP/MRP systems and continuously improve planning accuracy.
- Lead and develop the planning team, ensuring strong coordination and accountability.
