The Executive Assistant to the Ambassador is responsible for the provision of high-level executive, administrative and organisational support to the Ambassador ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the Ambassador’s office on a day-to-day basis at the Australian Embassy in Cairo.
The key responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Ambassador’s office, including coordination of appointments and meetings with stakeholders, travel arrangements and program of official engagements within Egypt and other countries of accreditation, and abroad.
- Maintaining an up-to-date network of appropriate contacts.
- Manage correspondence and documents for the Ambassador determining action required and drafting responses, and dispatch and follow up on formal intergovernmental correspondence.
- Manage the Ambassadors financial transactions in accordance with departmental guidelines, including recording and acquittal of the Ambassador’s hospitality allowance.
- Support coordination and management of all official functions (receptions, luncheons, and dinners) and liaise closely with the Ambassador’s domestic staff.
- Support other Australian based officers as required in accessing appropriate contacts and setting up appointments.
- Assist with arrangements for visiting Australian Ministers and senior officials as required.
