Responsibilities Manage the complete permitting workflow: coordinate official drawing endorsement with registered engineering peers, compile and submit official application packages, and follow up approval progress with municipal authorities and Civil Defense departments Act as the core technical liaison between the headquarter design team, local regulatory bodies and site construction teams, developing practical solutions to align international design standards with Egyptian local codes Chair interdisciplinary drawing review meetings, identify non-compliance risks, propose technical rectification plans, and resolve interface issues between site layout and HVAC scopes Track and interpret updates to Egyptian planning, HVAC and fire safety regulations, disseminate regulatory changes and provide actionable compliance guidance to the project team Deliver on-site technical support for design variations, drawing clarifications and construction coordination across both site layout and HVAC disciplines Mentor junior technical office staff on local code application, permitting procedures and authority stakeholder communication
Qualifications Mandatory: Full active membership and valid practicing seal from the Egyptian Syndicate of Engineers (statutory requirement for drawing endorsement and building permitting in Egypt) Professional working proficiency in Arabic; fluent technical English Bachelor’s degree or above in Urban Planning, Site Layout, HVAC Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field8+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in design compliance and permitting for industrial/EPC projects in Egypt Solid knowledge of Egyptian building regulations, Civil Defense rules and permitting workflows Willing to travel to project sites across Egypt and North Africa as required
