System Administrator Team Lead

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Development

Lead, mentor, and grow a team of System Administrators, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability.

Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and identify training opportunities to enhance team skills.

Delegate tasks, manage workloads, and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.

2. Strategic IT Planning

Collaborate with senior leadership to design and execute IT strategies that support business growth and operational efficiency.

Oversee the evaluation, implementation, and optimization of new technologies (e.g., cloud platforms, and automation tools).

Develop and manage IT budgets, ensuring cost-effective procurement of hardware, software, and services.

3. System & Network Oversight

Supervise the maintenance, configuration, and scaling of servers, networks, and security systems (firewalls, endpoint protection, backups).

Ensure high availability, performance, and disaster recovery readiness of critical infrastructure.

Approve and oversee major system upgrades, migrations, and integrations.

4. Security & Compliance Governance

Establish and enforce IT security policies, conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).

Lead incident response efforts for cybersecurity threats or system breaches.

Review and enhance data protection protocols, including access controls and encryption.

5. Vendor & Stakeholder Management

Negotiate contracts with vendors and manage relationships to secure high-quality, cost-effective solutions.

Act as the primary IT liaison for cross-departmental projects, communicating technical updates to non-technical stakeholders.

6. Operational Excellence

Drive process improvements, automation, and documentation to streamline IT operations.

Resolve escalated technical issues and guide complex troubleshooting.

Ensure seamless IT support for employees, including onboarding/offboarding processes and resource allocation.


Education:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.Experience:7+ years in system/network administration, with 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.Proven track record in managing IT infrastructure (Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization, cloud platforms).Experience scaling IT systems in multi-location environments.Certifications (Preferred):Technical: MCSA/MCSE, VMware/Hyper-V, Sophos, CISSP, AWS/Azure.Leadership: ITIL, PMP, or Agile certifications.Technical Skills:Expertise in network security, disaster recovery, and cloud solutions (Google Workspace, Zoho, Odoo ERP).Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python) and automation tools.Soft Skills:Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.Strategic thinker with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
