Role
Responsible for purchase of all or a specific portion of productive materials. Responsible for actively participating in development of commodity strategy, sourcing/negotiations, material budget execution, and interface with suppliers or internal stakeholders. Work is of a complex nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, analytical work and a high level of independent judgment.
Job Description
-Responsible for maintaining sourcing pipeline, benchmarking data, strategy presentations, materials’ budget and on-time metrics
-Adhere to corporate purchasing and accounting practices and procedures
-Sourcing event bid strategy & management
-Bid analytics
-Coordination and alignment of RFQ package components, including Terms & Conditions, SOR, technical documentation
-Pursue leadership sourcing recommendation and alignment
-Management of sourcing documentation related to bid events
-Cooperate with legal to negotiate special contract terms
-Daily supplier interface activities on all commercial items
-Support commercial budget activities
-Nurture relationship with strategic suppliers by acting as a focal point for commercial issue resolution
-Perform rate management activities including spot buys, rate analysis and supplier requests
-Participate in supplier KPI reviews
Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management or related experience.
-2+ years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain or related (preferably automotive)
-Professional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
-Self-starter. Ability to work independently and self-directed
-Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary complex projects
-High level of analytical ability where problems can be complex
-Ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
-Demonstrated competence in negotiating skills
