Tendering Low Voltage Engineer-panel

  1. Tender Preparation:
    • Review tender documents and specifications to understand client requirements, project scope, and technical aspects.
    • Prepare and submit detailed technical and commercial proposals for low-voltage electrical systems.
    • Develop accurate Bill of Quantities (BoQ), material take-offs, and cost estimates.
    • Ensure all proposals comply with relevant codes, standards, and client-specific requirements.
    • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to gather quotations for equipment and materials.
  2. Technical Support and Solution Design:
    • Provide technical input on the design of low-voltage electrical systems, including switchgear, distribution boards, panels, lighting control, and automation systems.
    • Conduct preliminary system design calculations (e.g., load analysis, short-circuit studies, cable sizing).
    • Advise clients on the most suitable solutions based on their needs, budget, and project timeline.
    • Address and resolve any technical queries from clients or internal teams.
  3. Cost Estimation & Budgeting:
    • Prepare detailed cost estimates based on system designs, including labor, materials, and equipment.
    • Evaluate the feasibility of projects in terms of cost, schedule, and resources.
    • Monitor cost trends in the market and adjust estimates accordingly.
  4. Collaboration with Internal Teams:
    • Work closely with the project engineering, procurement, and sales teams to ensure the tender aligns with the company's capabilities and standards.
    • Liaise with project managers to ensure smooth handover of information for project execution if the tender is awarded.
    • Provide technical and commercial support to the sales team during the tendering process.
  5. Vendor and Subcontractor Management:
    • Source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors for project components.
    • Negotiate terms and prices with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
  6. Risk Management:
    • Identify and assess risks associated with the tender and propose mitigation measures.
    • Ensure that all terms and conditions, including warranties and service agreements, are clear and agreed upon.
  7. Tender Submission & Follow-up:
    • Submit completed tenders to clients within the agreed deadlines.
    • Assist in presenting the proposal to clients, addressing any questions or concerns during the bid evaluation process.
    • Track and report the status of tender submissions and follow up on responses or feedback.
  8. Post-Tender Activities:
    • Assist in contract negotiation and finalization, if the tender is successful.
    • Ensure the correct documentation is provided for project initiation and execution.

Education:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.Experience:Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in the tendering or estimation of low-voltage electrical systems.Strong knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems, products, and solutions.Experience in preparing and reviewing technical and commercial bids for electrical or construction projects.Technical Skills:Knowledge of industry standards (IEC, BS, IEEE, etc.).Proficient in electrical design software (AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, etc.) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Familiarity with electrical distribution, control systems, and low-voltage switchgear.Soft Skills:Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
