Job Objective
The Mechanical Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and executing the mechanical maintenance of all Machines including, but not limited to, automatic sorting machine, conveyor systems, reactors, centrifuges, filter press and ABO at the manufacturing site. This includes supervising the mechanical maintenance team, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and ensuring safe operation. The supervisor will work closely with the Lead Machinery Engineer to optimize machinery performance and maintain compliance with industry regulations and Safety standards.
Environment
Internal: GEPD management members, manufacturing, quality & service divisions.
External: In absence of Lead Machinery Engineer, equipment suppliers and vendors.
Key responsibility
Routine Maintenance:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on of all Machines including, but not limited, automatic sorting machine, conveyor systems, reactors, centrifuges, filter press and ABO at the manufacturing site.
- Inspect and test machinery and equipment to diagnose issues and ensure they are operating correctly. Follow up on the stock of spare parts for Machinery Equipment .
Corrective Maintenance:
- Identify and repair mechanical and electrical faults in equipment and systems.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergencies to minimize downtime.
- Replace or repair defective parts, using hand tools and power tools.
- Use computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as SAP-PM to log maintenance activities and track equipment performance.
Compliance, Quality and Safety:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with regulatory requirements and standards. Conduct safety checks to identify potential hazards.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Machinery Lead Engineer and other team members to coordinate maintenance activities.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Leadership:
- Provide leadership, coaching, monitoring and guidance for Mechanical Machinery Technicians team.
Academic experience requiredDiploma or associate degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).Professional Experience RequiredMinimum of 10 years of experience in maintenance.8-10 years of professional experience in GMP facilities.Proven experience with pharmaceutical machinery.Computing SkillsBasic knowledge of Microsoft officeFamiliarity in using maintenance management software systems (SAP PM or similar).Familiarity in using automated warehouse systems and related software is a plus.Personal SkillsStrong Mechanical troubleshooting skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to read and interpret mechanical diagrams and schematics.Strong leadership, organizational, and team management skills.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.LanguagesWritten and spoken English and Arabic.
